Battlefront 2's Star Cards may be one of the worst progression systems I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing in a PvP game.
Yet 7/10 score...

It sadly felt that way.
Game Informer. Not Gamespot. The Gamespot review is in the OP.

Btw for the horrible Campaign you have to blame Motive, not DICE.
Sounds about right...except for "ALMOST encourages microtransactions"...
Yep. And even after the changes, the characters still take 10 hours of game time to unlock.Fuck that, they had their chance. You cant be expected to rewrite your review with every patch/update.
That was my worst fear that its gonna fell like just like dumbed down multiplayer. Some campaign missions, especially where you play some Hero characters felt like Tutorials for the Multiplayer instead of proper Campaign mission
Oh I agree.I suppose you're right, and it's not like it's not well crafted it's just surrounded by shit which brings it down to average/above average (5/6) whereas below 5 should be reserved for truly truly bad
I still think 7+ for this is kind of a joke
Why not just put up text until you have the final score. Seems like a cheap way just to get on metacritic day 1.
Like it wouldn't make sense for any game. Mario 10/10 initially, then when reviewer is stuck on jump ropes game is boring now 6/10?
So this is going to be a thing now? What is going on?Andrew Reiner, who is doing the Game Informer review, deleted it and is starting fresh.

A half assed three to four hour campaign and a bloated multiplayer crammed full of microtransactions. Sounds like a scam to me. EA gonna EA.
It's not. It's a mediocre game, with good graphics, good sounds and pay-to-win microtransactions.Sounds like a pretty good game still won't buy though with loot boxes as they are.
If you're going to make a campaign that is not even comparably good as Titanfall 2's you might as well go home.
Fuck that, they had their chance. You cant be expected to rewrite your review with every patch/update.
On the other hand, the "negative" reviews all seem to like the game and say it's a joy and exciting.

Even with the flaws the first game presents, I enjoyed my time with the first Battlefront. Reading this and the other news from the week about the progression system is sad and super disappointing. How do you keep screwing up and self-sabotaging yourself, EA?

8/10 - Generally better than the last Battlefront but sullied by cards and loot crates.
