I love Senate. he's a great character because he faces obstacles and then has to adjust his plans on a fly. he wins some and loses some. That's compelling. Also performance is so iconic.

If Rey is Palpatines bloodline there is potential angles they can go in the future. I don't buy they are looking at continuing the storyline after 9 though. I think ending the Palpatine/Skywalker Saga allows them to explore the universe more. Though if their expansion attempts fail I suppose they could try and return to the familiar

they always need familiar because they can milk nostalgia. after a while, people start to miss fmailiar and then you make money off bringing it back.

I don't care what Kathleen Kennedy says. I don't care what JJ says. There is going to be an episode 10, and we're going to hear about it by the end of 2021. SW is owned by Disney now, and money is their king. Those suits will force it if they have to. If you look at recent SW movies, putting in the word "Episode:" is a big selling point. It tells the movie goer 'this movie continues the story you have invested in for decades'.

With that in mind, either Kylo or Rey or both are going to have child(ren). Maybe not together. Maybe not both of them. Maybe not by the end of Ep9. But at least one of them definitely is, probably Kylo. Family is a theme that runs through every episodic SW movie and there is no way Disney ends this ride.

But marketing for the ST doesn't include "Episode: ", they're just Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The only time you see "Episode:" now is in the opening crawl.

Rey will give birth to Reylo twins, and one will be kidnapped by Snoke's grandson. Reylo will think the second twin is dead, but they show up later as a dark side twin.

It's almost too easy.

A bit weird that Rey's parents likely died saving her but she doesn't care about them or their last name?

I'm hearing a tip from a close friend today that one of the Knights of Ren is revealed to be Jar Jar Binks after they're slain. Kylo removes their helmets ritualistically and we see his shocked face before the reveal. Focus testing went fairly well so it's probably in the final cut. Reportedly, the audience shouted "What the fuck?" in perfect harmony.

It sounds like decrepit Senate is in the trailer for they pushed poster release for after the trailer since it has 'certain character". Leaks about to be confirmed?

My personal hope is that the supposed mystery character is... Matt Smith! Imagine the meltdowns. It wouldn't necessarily debunk the leaks, but damn would it throw everything into chaos.

If no Matt Smith, at least sprinkle some Reylo in there.

Thing I am most excited for in this trailer is to see how the Palps make up looks.

Palpatines make up in Revenge of the Sith was fucking AWFUL. Like embarrassingly bad straight out of a low budget mid 90s sci-fi show. And looked nothing like he did in the OT.

They're gonna nail it. Modern LF is so much more attentive to small details and authenticity. See Vader in RO or Yoda in TLJ.

Gotta be honest, I never had a problem with Sheev's *ahem* oscar nominated look in ROTS. It's overdone but it kind of fits the campiness in ROTS.

It's inconsistent with ROTJ sure, but my headcanon has always been that Sheev mellowed out in his later years, thus his face got less plumpy as he got older.

The issue with the makeup was one of them overdoing it. For ROTJ there was just a few pieces of latex rather than a whole massive full head mask. Them making a full neck mold really stood out as it made him look really bloated a lot of the time

Ian McDiarmid was about 22 years older in RotS, so it's not like you could just give him the same makeup. His skin was nowhere near as elastic and they probably used a safer, more comfortable, easier to apply and remove appliance. It of course also makes more sense for him to be more gaunt in RotJ than RotS, too. It'll be interesting to see what they do RotJ, wonder if they'll touch it up with CG. I imagine they'll want him to look even more emaciated.

Add me to the people who didn't like his look in ROTS.

Looked way better in ROTJ.
This is the list I want to be on as well. It was overdone in ROTS.

Today's the day folks...

The trailer will likely confirm which leaks are true and which aren't (mostly).

If we see a floating cube or a dagger, then we know the leaks are true... for example.

I expect to see Kylo finding a really old Palpatine on Exogol at the least, maybe the return to Luke's island, and something with Leia that would match the leaks.

And in the movie itself, not that I think it would happen but it would be amazing to have a bait-and-switch of a robed Jedi ghost walking out from the shadows that we expect to be Luke, but it's Anakin.

There is one thing in the leaks which bothers me. It's something that doesn't appear to have changed at any point and it's not one of the biggest things that I've seen talked about here or elsewhere.

I really wish they didn't feel a need to off Leia. This idea that it's just her "time" physically feels fairly hackneyed — correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't she only like 58? I get that people pass away rather young — believe me, I know that all too well — but doing that as part of this story, after Han's death and Luke's, you know, half-death, feels like a bit much.

It seemed like they wrote her dying to come back as a Force ghost to fight Palpatine, now I don't know.

It feels like corporate finishing the character off for the sake doing so for sure. There is no reason why leia could not have lived on in Canon. They do seem pretty hellbent on ending the Skywalker Saga and as such ending all ties to the past. If they move forward with Rey in the future they have a clean slate even if she takes on the skywalker name.

And like, it's a big damn galaxy, so really there shouldn't be any major concern toward the idea of sending Leia off to a scenic retirement somewhere and having the newer generation carry forward. Star Trek has had three long-running shows set in a particular time period, and there will soon be a fourth, and as much as fans always love the idea of seeing characters from other shows again it doesn't always happen and most of us are totally cool with that.

I guess Star Wars is a different beast, though, and "ending the Skywalker saga" is just that heavy a mission.

Does the Praxis leak describe anything like the glacier in the trailer teaser? Can't recall off the top of my head.

here's the quote from the leak:

"We pick up with Finn and Poe on the Millennium Falcon, accompanied by a hand full of unfamiliar alien characters traveling to an icy asteroid base to meet with a First Order informant.
The First Order arrives and begins attacking the base. The assault causes forces our heroes to make a hasty exit"

Icy asteroid? check. base? check (you can see city lights on the left side of the asteroid)
