Cheebo Since you listened to the podcast, please clarify the following:
is Luke and Leia training flashback cut from the movie or the movie just doesn't open with it but it's still in the movie?
Is the scene flashback of Rey parents murder cut? reddit bullet points don't make it clear.
So opening is now Sith Fleet rising from Exogol (sp?)
Did he explain why he brings this news to Patreon rather than video or site (where he supposedly releases more verified stuff)? Are the changes just rumored but not verified?
What else did he say that is important? Does he sound like he's backtracking?
Did he explain whether FG help Rey fight Palaptine or just revive Rey after Palp siphons the Force from her, as Jason claimed originally?

He says the training scene is entirely cut as is the flashback to her parents being murdered.
He didn't say why he brought it to patreon first but he occasionally does this for Patreon first once in a while.
He sounded frustrated about having to backtrack but said it's hard because Abrams changed so much throughout production and then changed even more throughout various reshoots so it has become extremely hard to lock down what happens as Abrams has changed a ton as production went on.
He didn't give any details on what the force ghosts do, it's just that Abrams at some point decided to change it from Luke and Leia as it didn't feel epic enough and changed it to bigger with "Jedi of the past".
oh and he thinks Wedge is in the movie but can't confirm it because his best sources aren't big Star Wars fans so they wouldn't even know who Wedge.
that he believes Wedge is likely part of Landos reinforcements in the third act.

I just hope Rey is front and center in this movie. That's the main thing I want out of this final chapter.
She got overshadowed in TLJ
The opening I could see because ILM could be told "JJ says scrap it, the effects are too uncanny valley so he is changing the opening".
The parents thing he said is because he heard that the whole Ochie side quest storyline has been heavily written out.

To clarify the Dennis Lawson stuff he said he heard Lawson was on set multiple times throughout production but never ran it as a report as his best sources never said anything. But he doesn't think that is because his best sources think he isn't in it but because his best sources aren't big Star Wars fans so it wouldn't be something they'd pinpoint to tell him as to him they would think he is just an old dude in an x-wing.
However one of them did say there was a "December pilot" (aka an old dude piloting a ship) in the film which he thinks is Wedge.

It's why freaking out over those JP leaks never made much sense. As movies don't really become formed till editing and it sounds like in the editing process JJ found that too be too sidequesty too.
That is what baffles me. How does Act 1 work as we knew it if the Ochie subplot is mostly gone.
I see no reason to doubt the former and I'd say the latter is set in stone since it ties directly into the title

Ochii side-quest really felt like side-quest and I hope they get rid of Falcon side-quest as well. I really hate that detour.
Also, I hope he drops the dreadful ending with people who don't have fuck to do with Tatooine on Tatooine taking a slefie with twin suns. ROTS ending worked because everyone associated with Tats (Luke, Owen, Beru and OB1) were there. Rey, Finn, Poe, Jannah, BB8 and D0 have nothing to do with Tats and therefore ending feels awful. A lot of people complained about it. There's no resonance.

No, I got a lot of opinions about leaks. But since they are the closest we have to the movie...
point being, if something feels like a detour on paper, execution won't make it more meaningful. this isn't the dry description vs resonant execution situation but that it's a filler anyway you slice it.
Generic vague leaks are not even remotely close to what a movie is though.
They are extremely vague. They don't go into any detail about how the fights go down and virtually no info about the non-Force plot.
And we have heard from both JP and Jason Ward that things are constantly changing from reshoots and editing.
Jason even said this is not going to be like TFA where everything matched up. That he is worried people will think he is a fraud because it has changed so much.
For example he said the Ochii side plot stuff is now just one scene to his understanding.
I don't think he's a fraud at all and I hope people understand none of them (Paxis, Jason, Bespin) is. They are leaking the work in progress so that's bound to change, and I wager it's better that changes are reported now than never and people get shocked when stuff is missing.

I kinda like how the narrative is constantly changing on these spoilers. Not because I feel strongly one way or another about any particular aspect of them (well, maybe one aspect....), but because it's keeping the speculation fresh and exciting.

Luke and Leia helping during the final battle was the only thing from the leaks I really liked. So of course it's being cut.
Is Jessika Pava returning in this considering Wexley is back?
Unless the movie is absolutely horrendous, force ghosts helping in the final battle would automatically put it in the running for my top 3 Star Wars movies.

There's no way Filoni will pass up having her work alongside Luke in the post-RotJ period. I'm just going to go ahead and assume we'll get a cartoon at some point about Luke's academy and Ahsoka will come and go as the plot needs. And Jacen will be one of his students or her padawan (or just apprentice if she wouldn't call a student a padawan).

I, for one, welcome our next two decades worth of supplemental media which gradually fills in the complex backstories of every single, soon-to-be-slaughtered, Knight of Ren
