Finally got around to watching the new Rebels episodes. Nice to see Saw show up again and looking closer to his RO appearance. At this point I'm just wondering what happens to fuck him up so bad and if we'll even see it on this show.

How far off is the show from RO/ANH at this point? Like a year?

A year seems about right. IIRC in Guardians of the Whills he has his robotic appendages and has just established himself on Jakku, and I think that takes place 6 months before Rogue One.

So whatever happens to him is probably fairly imminent. It felt like this was Saw's "guest appearance" this season so I'm wondering if we'll even be seeing him again on this show. Might be too much showing someone's legs getting blown off or whatever on a kid's show anyway lol.

I'm also really liking the show's new structure with two part episodes. Gives the stories more time to breath compared to what felt rapid fire short stories the last seasons.

#20 of Poe was a good start to this arc. The intro sequence with Lor San Tekka on Cato Neimodia was great. It was nice to actually get a bit more of him. Regarding Snap and Kare, didn't they get married in one of those Join the Resistance books? I assume that's set after this.

I loved the reference to the 'debate' over whether BB-8 was flipping the bird or putting his thumb up in TFA too. I'm all caught up with the comics now.

This live performance of Rogue One's soundtrack is fantastic.

No dedicated merch thread? I guess I'll spam my pics in here then...

Got an X-Wing.

I hope I'm not the only one who still prefers the original design.

I have to say, it feels good to see familiar faces that also made the jump from you-know-where. Feels like home already.

Feels good to be here.

So, Mr. Johnson, all I want from the Last Jedi is Luke's lightsaber, force fight scene. I'll probably stand up in the theater.

You could make a Merch Thread :D I am a bit sad that we lost your amazing concept-vehicles, I loved to look at them.

I had to stop buying Action Fleet sets. I just don't have the room for vehicles of that size any more.

I do still have these Original Trilogy Series Alpha sets from when I was a kid. Not sure how much of the battle damage is intentional detail and how much is acquired over years of play.

Unlike the Phantom Menace Series Alpha, the OT ones had the normal final design toy, and the concept vehicles were smaller with no action features or articulation.

I've noticed a couple nice features. I'm liking it so far. All I really miss is the little JavaScript arrow button at the bottom of the mobile version that would quickly take you back up to the top of the page.

Definitely prefer the original, but I think the new one looks good too. They did a good job making it look like it's the latest model.

As for posting merch here, I wouldn't mind seeing it here instead of it's own thread. Not sure how things were done in the Old Republic, but I think it'd be cool to keep the SW community in one thread.

Nice to see a few more friendly names! I think we should just stick to one thread for now. You create too many and some hardly get used. Plus I'm sure most of our interests overlap.

I see it. I see the thread.
This is the thread i'm looking for.

Great to be here. new community member, lurked for ages at the old place in all the star wars threads. glad to finally join up and be part of this. Super pumped for TLJ, struggling to keep up with all the books and comics. Stopping in the stores every couple days looking for new stuff. Hope a merch thread appears sometime. Just posted in the Podcast thread a list of some of my fave Star Wars casts.

The frame story of the novel follows children on their way to the casino world of Canto Bight. The children tell each other a total of 6 stories about Skywalker, debating whether or not he was a myth. The stories include a first-hand account, told second-hand, of a mole-flea named Lugubrious Mote, who claimed to have been with Skywalker during the Rescue of Han Solo.
Excited for this on Tuesday. Too bad it's a junior novel.

Other recent books:
Leia is good despite the obvious constraints of a story years before the Rebellion really got going. It's not essential like Bloodline but there's a lot of fun background stuff.
Phasma is a good book that drags in the middle to an extent I can't overlook. Most people like it more than I do.
From A Certain Point Of View has some amazing peaks but a few 20+ page duds and far too many stories around Mos Eisley. I know the gimmick is that the stories run parallel to A New Hope but a Stephen King-style card shuffle order might improve this one. Pick and choose based on POV character and author and you'll generally find the best stories.

So, uh, who's doing the TLJ OT? Is that dude who was doing it on the other website here to do it here? Also, we're still sticking to the sensical format, right?

-- Review thread: spoiler-free impressions for critics and users alike
-- TLJ OT: For those who have seen the movie and wish to discuss everything about it.

Worked well enough for Rogue One. I'd be happy to run the review thread again (OT can go to someone with actual artistic skills, ha).

According the OT thread, Quick is doing it.

Great Hamill article.

Interesting poster.

Just started Inferno Squad this morning. Not far but want to get it read before the game.

I love Star Wars.

It was Halloween at my sons daycare so here he is.

I'm guessing he'll ignite it when she gives it to him. I doubt he actually uses it but I may be wrong.

Awww, he's a happy Jedi.

Very good Rebels eps today/tonight, the serialization is really working wonders for this season.

Also I just want to bask in those TIE Defender Elite sounds

Luke Skywalker Speaks
Mark Hamill has always embraced his "Star Wars" legacy,
but when he was invited back for "The Force Awakens"
and "The Last Jedi," he hesitated: "I was just really scared."
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/30/...er-mark-hamill.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur
Thanks, this was a great read, I love Mark Hamill's interviews.

When Mr. Lucas said their characters would be included in these new films if they wanted to play them, Mr. Hamill said, "I was completely stunned. Carrie, not a minute went by — she slapped the table and goes, 'I'm in!' I said, 'Carrie, poker face!'"
Mr. Hamill thought he would have some cover to refuse "The Force Awakens," expecting that Mr. Ford would not return.

"He's too old and too rich and too cranky," Mr. Hamill said. "He's not going to do this." But when Mr. Ford said yes, Mr. Hamill realized he had to agree, too: "Can you imagine if I was the only one to say no? I'd be the most hated man in nerd-dom."
Man, to think Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford were the first to agree.

Several years ago, when Ms. Fisher noticed in a theater program that Mr. Hamill had referred only elliptically to his "Star Wars" work, he said, "She goes, 'What's your problem?' I said, 'Well, it's theater, I want it to be more focused on theater.' She goes, 'I am Princess Leia. You're Luke Skywalker. Get used to it.'"
I'm so sad we'll never get to see the Episode IX that was focused on her :(
