OMG @ Limited Run Games doing Star Wars! I'm way too excited. I wonder what the Collector's Editions will have.

There's supposed to be a smaller scale open world game in development with AA budget. I think that will come in 2022 after Battlefront 3 in 2021.

Really? Wow. This is the first I'm hearing of this. Hope you're right.

The plan is for the game to hit next year. I'm not sure if it's open world though.

When EA's top decision-makers looked at their road map for the next few years, they decided that they needed something earlier than the planned release date for Orca, according to two people familiar with what happened. So they cancelled Orca in favor of a smaller-scale Star Wars project that's now aimed for much sooner—likely, late 2020, which also happens to be around the time that I've heard next-gen consoles will launch.

I hope we get a wide variety of environments in Fallen Order. They haven't mentioned how many planets we'll be visiting or roughly how long the game is yet right?

Star Wars Explained's review of Alphabet Squadron.

Says he loved it and puts it right next to Lost Stars and Thrawn as his favorite books of the new canon. Also, says that he didn't connect to the characters of Twilight Company (same author) but the same complain wasn't applicable to Alphabet Squadron.

I read it for a hour-ish today and liked what I saw. Freed exploring the varying levels of "defector" is 100% my shit, and I'm curious to see where he goes with Yrica in that sense.

So apparently there's gonna be a lot of planets, some new some familiar. And once unlocked, you can go to the star map and revisit any of the planets you've been to. Fallen Order is sounding goooooooood y'all.

I'm sorry to be that guy but I'm not feeling Order at all. The climbing sections looked awkward, the protagonist is boring ass white guy 3465464, combat feels like a toned down Unleashed.

Toning shit down isn't exactly a solution for making combat interesting. Why does this idiot run into battle with his saber down.

This game just feels directionless and deflated to me. The protag just seems to.. Exist, with no interesting backstory.

The combat feels like it was designed 10 years ago, which makes sense if unleashed was the inspiration. It still feels like he's swinging an electric bat to me.

I hope to be wrong but this is exactly the way I felt about battlefield 5 and ended up hating it.

The impressions articles have made up for what I found to be a middling demo showing. Plus I still need to read GameInformer's 14-page cover article too!

Im with you. Theyre going to have to do a lot.of work to make me give a shit about this main character.

Also i hope they dedicate the next 5 months to more passes on the combat because it is looking rough.

I pretty much love Star Wars games no matter what, the Battlefront games are the only multiplayer I've put substantial time into this gen. I loved playing the BFII campaign. The demo looked a little dull but playing as a Jedi is going to be great and I hear there's eight planets, so they're holding a lot back. Writing can be a strong point for Star Wars games, hopefully it is here too and the protagonist has some interesting development. Everybody thought Arthur Morgan was going to be boring before RDRII released.

It also helps that this year is a total dud for games.

Well, Dark Visions is over. That was certainly a thing.

Won't get a chance to read Alphabet Squadron until this weekend.

With Fallen Order, The Mandalorian, and Rise of a Skywalker all within a month after nothing since Solo, it's going to be an unbelievably great time to be a Star Wars fan this year.

I'm just sad that we may never get an RPG, if everything has to be canon then how does an RPG work if you get to customise your characters gender and make choices to join the dark side etc. Unless it's more like RPGs where you can't have your own character and there is no option to fall to the dark side.

So what about Europe? Other countries? And they expect big sale numbers outside of USA!

It's probably a solid bet that if Celebration 2021 happens, it'll be a Europe year, given the pattern up to now.

Also lol I just realized that D23 is happening a few days before in the same spot, if they stick to the same schedule as this year.

I was not expecting tickets to go on sale so soon, or the August date. I was honestly expecting tickets to go on sale in the fall and that would have given me enough time to plan and save for it.

Everything in Galaxy's Edge is canon which means that even if the TIE Echelon isn't in Episode IX, it'll show up somewhere else eventually. They'll use the design for something.

Am I misunderstanding or was that design created by his team and him but only for Galaxy's Edge? It sounds like it wasn't for the actual film.

Not everything has to be canon. After the buyout, Lucasfilm has released several things that were not canon (Marvel #108, the LEGO Freemaker Adventures, etc.). The change in attitude towards canon is that everything that is said to be "canon" is now on the same level. There are no longer levels to the canon, which there were previously. In

D23 usually happens every 2 years, not every year. There probably won't be a D23 next year.

That was my understanding as well. Trevorrow and his design team were approached and asked to create a ship specifically for Galaxy's Edge, so they did. It was not intended for Episode IX and may not have even appeared in Trevorrow's version of the movie.

These Galaxy of Adventures shorts.... Man, I'm such a fan.

Lowkey some of the best SW content post disney out there. Which is nuts. They need to greenlight a full fledged SW animated short with these folks like yesterday.

Man, the voice modulation on the Stormtroopers is so good. It makes me wonder if they're actually speaking or if the lines are per-recorded and played back?

At times it feels like the lines are pre-recorded because sometimes they don't make quite sense with the conversation or situation going on. Though when I was at Disney World last summer if I didn't know any better they could've actually been speaking.
