This scene - it looks nothing like that now. It looks completely clean and not in an artificial DNRed way, it's brighter, and the sky is totally pink. I hope I could get screenshots but I don't know how.

In 2011 I thought the Blu-rays were totally underwhelming, these are miraculous. The edits are still there but it looks like the OT as it was originally intended to look.

This is incredibly fucking frustrating. Is there any way to watch this on PC? All I have access to is my phone (Android), and.. well, I ain't watching this on a 6 in screen for the first time. I have the episode ready to go, but it's just on my phone screen..

Not sure if TPM has a new transfer but the HDR makes the Duel of the Fates look incredible.

However I'm noticing some weird flickering issues in the prequels, particularly TPM at 1:55:50.

Some of the matte boxes are still there around the TIE fighters in ANH.

And I have the exact same flickering issues on my iPhone as well as my TV.

How long before people start using the Mandalorian to shit on the ST? I bet it's already happened.

"That Disney ST is awful and ruined everything! They won't take my money again! This other Disney thing is way betterer!"

Wouldn't be surprised if someone unironic said Disney won't have their money but paid for the service

Really great impressions overall so far. Glad to see it. Looks like Filoni have been getting better at first episodes, although no doubt it will still follow the same trajectory of the series only getting better and better.

Only watched the first half for tonight, wasn't a fan of TCW to say the least but I'm really liking this.

I'm gonna do something a bit side eye here and randomly plug The Expanse to folks who have Amazon Prime Video. If you want more space shows, this is the best one right now. Wholly unlike The Mandalorian, too, so you can enjoy both on separate merits.

A New Hope looked really good in 4K from what little I watched.

4K Phantom Menace still looked a bit DNR'd to me from what little I saw...

Didn't check the other movies yet.

I didn't know that so many movies would be in 4K. It's wonderful.

I really, really, really, really like the first episode of Mandalorian. Great production values, great story, subversions that are satisfying, great comedy, immediately connect to every character introduced. And let usnot sell short some of the shots in the first episode. Some of them are fantastic. Great job Filoni!! Cannot wait to see more. I'm totally on board.

Sorry if I seem a little extra. It's just nice to be super excited about SW again!! ^_^

I'm suprised that Disney haven't made a deal with any company in the UK to stream the Mandalorian, since D+ won't be available here until March 2020. They know people will Captain Jack Sparrow it, but they don't seem too concerned, else they would've made a deal imo...

My thinking is they have accepted it and will just take the L that comes with a staggered launch. They are banking on people signing up as more and more shows based on SW and others keep coming up and hopefully pirates who liked Mandalorian will sign up for S2. Furthermore it seems like VPN will work, so anyone who wants to watch it legally can.

I can't believe how good Mandalorian ep 1 was. Story isn't intriguing so far, world building is neat, designs are great, visual FX are insanely on point, sound design, foley, and mixing are perfect as always, action was choreographed very nicely, acting was solid...

I especially appreciate that the comedy is there but it doesn't overwhelm when it appears.

Mandalorian AND Jedi: Fallen Order in one week?! Hook me up to life support because I can't breathe. I'm going to die and go up to Star Wars heaven.

Enjoy folks! I think I'm waiting it out 'til March unfortunately (UK). I've given up on trying to avoid spoilers although I'll do my best : (

At least I can get in on the Fallen Order hype! Preloaded and ready on Xbox X and confident as I have been since it was announced that it will be something special I really can't wait to get stuck in : )

Found a way to watch The Mandalorian. UK people don't give up hope.

Overall I liked it! The show looks like a movie, and the cliffhanger was great, although when I was searching for a way to watch I had it spoiled for me :(

Fox fanfare is nice. As is the 4K Star Wars upload (makes me think there is a 4K box set coming once TRoS is released)

Cloud City looks incredible in Empire. Haven't had a chance to watch the nighttime lightsaber fight from TFA.

I can tell a Noticeable improvement on TFA.

Got Disney plus but I guess the servers are getting hammered cause I can't watch shit

Same.

I'm actually waiting to watch Mandalorian with a friend later but it's pretty clear they are getting pummeled right now because the only thing I've been able to watch is a trailer.

No worries, I expected this might happen and I trust them to smooth things out relatively quickly.

I'm kinda relieved that The Mandalorian, at least this first ep, is just 30something minutes. So tired of shows that run 50-60 minutes and often don't justify that runtime. Too many showrunners/directors have taken the "it's like a 10-hour movie on tv!" idea and the lack of runtime restrictions on streaming platforms as an excuse to create overly padded episodes to justify being an hour or so long.

Watchmen has also been a relief yet, hedging closer to 45 minutes than an hour so far.
