The epic Star Wars conclusion we deserve. What a trailer!

Very good trailer. Odd choice though to hint at a finale with Ahsoka vs. Maul, seeing how this was part of the S2 finale of Rebels which takes place years later. Kind of robs it of a climax in a sense.

That's what I am wondering.

the edge
I'm curious to see if they can convincingly bridge the gap between the show and RotS or if they're straight up going to retcon Ahsoka into the movie. It always bugged me how huge Ahsoka is for Anakin (and Obi-Wan to an extend) despite never being mentioned in the movie for obvious reasons. It wouldn't be respectful towards Lucas but I really do hope they retcon it.

Just remake it as part of the show and save the prequel era that way. The Clone Wars explores the themes the prequels were trying to significantly better, even if it doesn't explore all of them as much as I'd like.
I am not so sure though. Take the trailer scene for example, with Mace Windu revealing he's sensing a plot to destroy the Jedi. In the movie, he revealed it only to other council members: Yoda, Ki-Adi Mundi and Aayla Secura, just after Anakin left the meeting. So he only talked with the most trusted people about this in a very discrete setting.

In the trailer scene, it looks like he is talking about it in a meeting that also includes Plo Koon, Depa Billaba, Caleb Dume and two clones(!!!!!!!!). So, apart from the fact that Caleb Dume as a mere padawan would certainly not be in on the council's most secretive talks about this kind of stuff, it's virtually impossible to talk about it when clone troopers are around. And all that re-interpretation just to work Filoni's OC, Kanaan, into the scene. I am not sure how this would be an improvement, as it undermindes the secrecy and discretion of the council members about their mistrust of Palpatine. So I think that possibly, that line of Windu does not actually belong to that scene like the trailer implies.

I kinda wish Lucasfilm just said "fuck it" and allowed Revenge of the Sith to be remade after season 7. Then I ccould completely ignore the prequels ever existing.
Its highly popular, so would torpedo the entire franchise. SW is much richer and better due to the ideas in PT. They're not touching the it, in fact they'lll continue to enshrine it into the lore, the ST & Rogue One is full of PT callbacks. Deal with it.

The ideas of the prequels were never the problem; it's the execution. I want a version of the story where Anakin's change into Darth Vader actually makes sense.

It makes sense. Look at SW polls, its really liked. Just like TLJ, people need to accept it and move on.

I am so incredibly hyped for this.

I can't believe Disney is waiting to launch Disney+ until the 24th of March in the UK.

Guess I'll be "flying" to the US to watch this. 😁

Trailer was amazing! Have they announced how many eps this will be? Seems most of the new Disney+ shows are short so hoping this doesn't follow suit and follows the length of the previous seasons. Besides Season 6 they were all 20ish eps a season (with Season 6 only being 12).

Edit: Just answered above.

Guys, it's 12 episodes, not 13. Each arc has four episodes and there are three arcs.

The weekly wait's going to be torturous, but I can't wait.

Don't think that person was suggesting to somehow retcon the prequels, but rather retread and flesh ROTS's events out in TCW format for its betterment.

I would love for them to have this season being about the Jedi finding all kinds of Sith underlings left and right. Sith apprentices, Sith acolytes, Sith students, Sith fanatics, Sith butlers.

That way, they could finally retcon that stupid Mace Windu line in ROTS.

So I am a little confused, was this show cancelled or stopped and one point and now they are bringing it back with D+?

Ahhh ok. Thank you for the clarification!

I think George Lucas was pumping a lot of his own money into each episode. Disney probably didn't want to do that and had their own ideas of what to do with Starwars. I'm sure there was a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on coupled with the fan love the show gets that got it resurrected.
