Mmh... I'm not sure Dariusburst is a game that'd end up in a monthly.
Wait what? Since when? I got it yesterday evening and there wasn't an option to do so.
This is getting completely out of hand and so we are temporarily locking this thread. We're going to have intense conversations with a lot of parties as we try to find the best path forward.
Hello all. Since last night we've been in constant discussions with staff and community leaders to try to identify how we got to this point and how we can avoid ever getting here again. At the core there was a breakdown in communication and understanding which we have been working through the night to repair. There is now a strong dialogue with community leadership that we intend to continue in perpetuity.
We'd like to first apologize for the thread lock and make it clear that this was not a punishment but a matter of necessity while things were sorted. The level of hostility had risen to the point where personal privacy had been compromised and actual harassment was taking place from external sources. We deemed it unwise to reopen the thread until a sustainable solution could be found through dialogue.
By community suggestion, the monthly Steam thread will be renamed to a monthly PC Gaming thread; the idea is to allow the community to grow and officially welcome other communities like those for Blizzard games. PC is also indisputably a platform and not a service and will be afforded status accordingly. The first of these threads should be going up as soon as MRORANGE is finished.
We will take steps to improve the quality of PC gaming discussion on the forum, including paying greater attention to low effort drive by posting and cracking down on piracy complaints in threads about legitimate emulation.
At the same time however, we need to make it clear that the adversarial stance towards our staff has at times gotten way out of hand, to a degree that simply cannot continue if we are all going to coexist here for the long term. No staff member has ever had malign intentions towards this or any other community. Mistakes have been made along the way, for which I take responsibility and feel a great deal of personal heartbreak and shame. The hostility, however, must end. This applies to everyone, although some members will have final warnings issued to this effect.
Let's all try to do better.
