I just realized that this topic could be interesting for people who's not into Steam much, so i decided to give it a try and create separate thread for those stats. Before we start, i want to include several disclaimers:
1. All stats are taken from SteamSpy - https://steamspy.com/ Those numbers are not 100% accurate, but they still provides a overall picture of how some games preformed on PC market. If you want to know how SteamSpy algorithm works, read this page - https://steamspy.com/about
2. It was mentioned many times before, but those numbers doesn't fully translates in sales, they only indicates how many users bought game directly from Steam store or activated retail key. It's obviously doesn't includes DRM free sales, retail and online store shipments, which are still sales but can't be included in stats for obvious reasons. Again, owners != sales, remember that before jumping to conclusions!
3. Another reminder that those numbers doesn't include sales from other platforms like GOG, Uplay, etc.

Okay, i hope that'll be enough to keep discussion in place. So, let's see numbers for titles released in October 2017:

Oh, that's great! I was actually looking at some old steamspy threads and it was pretty fun to see the ownership changes in a scale of years, so having this data easily available is pretty useful

Talking about these games in specific, Cuphead's success is actually absurd. It probably sold more on just two plataforms than most of the AAA releases?

It's not just sold more than some AAA releases, excluding free and Early Access games it's second most selling game on Steam after PUBG, so it actually sold better than all AAA 2017 releases on Steam. Don't forget that game is also on GOG. And i doubt that Xbox numbers are lower than on PC, so it probably sold more than 2 million copies without major discounts, which is crazy good numbers for this type game.

Yeah, I forgot GoG, which, considering the numbers are this high, is probably significant. I wouldn't guess 2 million, but it must be pretty close. And it's selling well! And, I mean, selling best than all AAA releases on steam has to put it at the very least in the top10 for the year considering all platforms or something, right?

Too bad Wolfenstein 2 bombed compared to Doom which exploded in popularity on PC. I'm sure the release date is mostly to blame.

That's very sad for Zwei. XSeeD doesn't have a lot of success on Steam lately :(

I'm still confused why exactly The Culling didn't take off more than it did. Didn't it come out earlier than PUBG? Then again so did stuff like H1Z1 battle royale.
