I know when The Witness launched, people were posting comparisons to circles and lines as if they had an eye in the real world to video games. In fact, there was a whole subreddit devoted to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/thewitnessirl/

Of course, this is also an example of a real world phenomenon called Tetris Effect: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect
The Tetris effect (also known as Tetris Syndrome) occurs when people devote so much time and attention to an activity that it begins to pattern their thoughts, mental images, and dreams. It takes its name from the video game Tetris.

People who played Tetris for a prolonged amount of time could find themselves thinking about ways different shapes in the real world can fit together, such as the boxes on a supermarket shelf, the buildings on a street, or hallucinating pieces being generated and falling into place on an invisible layout.[1] In this sense, the Tetris effect is a form of habit. They might also dream about falling tetrominos when drifting off to sleep or see images of falling tetrominos at the edges of their visual fields or when they close their eyes.[1] In this sense, the Tetris effect is a form of hypnagogic imagery.

As someone in the middle of packing/moving, I can attest to that.

And this doesn't excuse all the popular music and raps that reference video games or samples music from them.


So, I ask, what are some of your real world comparisons to video gams?

Thank God I'm not crazy, I had this thing after playing Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn for several hours daily. I would go out and measure my distance between other people in head thinking if they are close enough "to get me on their turn". Bear in mind I played those games really slow, taking a lot of time in each turn deciding where to position my characters especially the weak ones so to not get hit on next turn. Supposedly Radiant Dawn it's a 40-50 hours game and my save file wrote 84 hours when I finished it.

Daniels' alleged relationship with Trump included one moment in 2007, she writes, in which she is with Trump in a hotel room watching a Shark Week broadcast on cable television when he receives a phone call from Hillary Clinton, then running against Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"Then, to make it crazier, Hillary Clinton called," Daniels writes. "He had a whole conversation about the race, repeatedly mentioning 'our plan'...

"Even while he was on the phone with Hillary, his attention kept going back to the sharks."
