Gamespot - 9
It has always been a strong fighting game that continues to get better over time, but it remained a game for genre enthusiasts. Arcade Edition, however, is a game that you can confidently recommend to anyone. Two years after its launch, Street Fighter V is finally fighting fit.

IGN

Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition marks the completion of a transformation from bare-bones fighting game with a rock-solid core to a fully featured example of the genre at its best. The new V-Triggers are sure to shake up the competitive scene, while the nostalgic new modes breathe new life into the single-player fighting. With Arcade Edition, Street Fighter 5 finally feels like a complete game, and one that lives up to its legacy.

Eurogamer - Essential
It's taken Capcom way too long to drag Street Fighter 5 to where it should have been at launch. And so, it's easy to cynically dismiss this much-needed rebirth as too little, too late. But doing so does a disservice to the fantastic fighting game Street Fighter 5 has become. Sure, Street Fighter 5 was a disaster at launch. But now, buoyed by Arcade Edition, it's one of the best fighting games around, if not the very best. Street Fighter 5 has always had brilliant combat. Now it's got the video game to do it justice.

Metro UK - 9
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition - Capcom's Redemption. Despite all the controversy Street Fighter V was always a great fighting game, but as unearned as some of the criticism might have been the Arcade Edition silences it once and for all.

Attack of the Fanboy

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is not something that every Street Fighter fan has to rush out and buy. The bulk of what's included in this game is already included in Street Fighter V and will be made available via a patch. However, it IS a good entry point for newcomers. A game that's been out for a couple of years now with almost all issues having been ironed out since launch, Street Fighter V is one of the best looking and best playing fighting games on PlayStation 4.

Hobby Consolas (Spanish) - 90% Excellent
"This time they did it: a complete and appealing game for both single player and multiplayer. Its battle system and visuals are among the bests in the genre."

The best
Combat dynamics, that already were super solid in the original game. The roster and how characters look on screen.

The worst
Occasional server lag, but waaay less than before. Capcom and its ambition: pricing of the extras is too expensive.

Venturebeat - 92/100
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, as a product, is what Capcom should have shot for in 2016. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, the core game, is a good fighter that's getting better. If you don't already own a copy of Street Fighter V, this is a really nice spot to jump in. If you do already own a copy and the Season 1 and 2 characters, well, the update is free. So have at it.

Heavy - 9
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition needs a hearty round of applause. If you've stayed away from the game up until now, take this opportunity to finally dedicate some time to it. For those of you who stayed with the game since its launch, you now have something new to celebrate. The roster has a nice mix of old standby's and interesting newcomers thanks to the previous two DLC Seasons.

Plus there's more to do in an offline setting due to the inclusion of Arcade Mode and Extra Battle challenges. The new V-Trigger's positively impacts the tight-knit experience and having Sakura start S3 is a cool gift. It would have been a treat to have all of S3's characters ready to go on launch day, but I'm still pleased with the upgraded content Arcade Edition has placed within Street Fighter V.

IGN Spain - 9
The 'almost' definitive version of Street Fighter V comes full of new features, finally turning the Capcom game into what should have been from the start. There are almost no weak points in the playable proposal that is offered in this pack, becoming one of the most attractive options of the genre at this time.

Everything that this game should have been two years ago, with inclusions as interesting as the Arcade mode or the second V-Trigger for all fighters ... Without forgetting the extra fighters that have been released in seasons 1 and 2.

Player.One - 8.5
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is the complete version of SFV that fans will love. The new additions really gives Street Fighter V a more robust single-player and local multiplayer experience that it sorely lacked. The introduction of new V-Triggers will also bring new wrinkles to how players will battle.

Capcom really has done a good job with all of this new content available free for those who stuck it out with Street Fighter V in its nearly two years of being released. The $39.99 price tag for the complete game and a massive amount of DLC is also a great jumping on point for those who were waiting for this version of the game.

If you're a fan of the series or fighting games, jump into Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

The Koalition - 9
As a total package, this is how Street Fighter V should've been released from the start. There is a ton of content to play offline, with many unlockables and fan service to those who have been with the franchise since the start. New fighters and character updates give a breath of life to the competitive scene and offer new possibilities for how the game will continue to evolve as more content is released. If you were someone disappointed with how meager Street Fighter V felt at launch, you'll be happy to know you have so much more to do with this new version of the game. This is the Street Fighter V you always wanted.

GearNuke - 9
The true potential of Street Fighter V has finally been reached with the Arcade Edition, making it the most content rich release of the series so far, with a deep and engaging gameplay system that tests the limit of your skills.

Saudi Gamer - 9
Since coming out two years ago, a lot of improvements and additions have been applied that strengthened the game's solid foundation, and this edition addresses the game's biggest remaining complaint, enriching its content immensely.

Raging Gazebo - Grade A
With more content catering to the single player mode, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition delivers what the initial release in 2016 should have been all along. The new modes give players more to accomplish and hone their skills, while the added V-trigger moves keeps things in the fighting ring interesting down to the last bit of health. The legendary fighting series has officially come roaring back to the scene, and looks like it's going to be here for a while.

US Gamer - 4.5/5
After two years of additions and tweaks, Capcom has finally gotten Street Fighter V into the state it should've launched in. What was only a tournament-ready fighter is now a robust package. A roster of 29 characters, the long-awaited Arcade Mode, Extra Battle, Challenges, a great Training Mode, and solid online play add up to a release that shouldn't be missed for avid fighting game fans.

Trusted Reviews - 4.5/5
Street Fighter 5 is a great game at its core, but now that core is surrounded by a healthy amount of content for every type of player. Now is the time to get involved with one of the best fighting games currently around, and put all that Hadoken muscle memory you've had since '92 to the test!

Gaming Bolt - 9
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is the game we've all been waiting for since the original game launched almost two years ago. Each character plays as smoothly as any other version, the colors and unique soundtrack are definitely one-of-a-kind. This is, now, one of the best fighting games in the series, and one of the best fighters of the current generation. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is the game we deserved, and although it took nearly two years after launch to get to this point, it's a great point for those who didn't get the game in the beginning.

CGMag - 8
The Arcade Edition certainly makes up for all the criticisms tossed at the Street Fighter V for lacking content. This is a damn fine fighting game now, it's just a shame everyone had to wait two years to get it.

Push Square - 8
t's taken close to two years, but Street Fighter V finally resembles the game that it should have been from the start thanks to Arcade Edition. Newcomers can rest assured that there's now enough single player content to keep casual players happy, and at its core, the actual fighting remains top class.

Polygon
- Postive

Capcom has always promised Street Fighter 5 will be a singular title, eschewing the many-versions-under-one-number system it had employed for previous franchises entries. While some players may be salty that Arcade Edition offers the game's 12 DLC characters for free to new players (characters could be purchased as part of a season pass, or by earning in-game Fight Money from completing challenges and matches), they'll still benefit from the arcade mode, UI adjustments and character balance changes, which are being patched in for all Street Fighter 5 owners. But Arcade Edition is the perfect invitation for new players or those who passed on the game the first time around. Now, more than ever, is the best time to jump in.

I have no clue about this, but is it a free update to early SFV owners? Got the game for cheap in the first month or so, but have barely played it.

I hope it does review well, might counteract the poor reception it got at launch. And the more noobs to help me up to gold rank the better!

Yeah. You won't get the characters and stages that you can purchase with Fight Money or real money, but you will get all the other content.

Definitely a good spot to jump in for newcomers.

Sadly I don't think the netcode was buffed in this version :/

I'm about to reinstall as well. It's been a long time since I've played a fighting game. I even sold my old fight sticks a year back when my wife and I moved. Let's see if this old man still remembers how to dragon punch.

I wasn't sure if places were going to review this, but I'm happy they are. SFV is a substantial package now, and it would be nice for onlookers' impressions of the game in 2018 to not just be the reviews that came out two years ago. The amount of content in it has pretty much tripled (or more?) since.

Does anyone know if the disc comes with a code? I have SFV digitally and a few best buy certificates and GCU. Maybe cheaper to go that route than it would be getting the S1 and S2 pass

I really want to buy this, but I'm STILL waiting on Best Buy to send me the $10 promo codes from doing in-store pickup during the holidays. Their phone support just keeps transferring around and around, and Twitter DMs don't respond for days at a time :/

Lovely. Fresh blood in SFV is always welcomed.
Just updated on Steam in 2 minutes. Update was around 13-14GB for me.

Yes I think new reviews will help to reinvigorate the game a little.

Nice to see SFV is getting more love. SFV was already awesome, and with AE gets many awesome additions and tweaks including the only thing it lacked: a proper arcade mode. And it got maybe the biggest arcade mode ever, with a ton of unlockable endings artwork and nostalgic touches.

Let's hope this time the press scores the game really high, because a lot of them spread false information like the "hey Capcom lied because they said they wouldn't release SSFV", when Capcom is doing what they said since day 1: releasing new game modes and tweaks for free, new characters, stages, colors and costumes that can be bought or unlocked and some paid only cosmetic stuff, making sure that the people who bought the game day one won't need to buy a 2nd disc and that the community won't be split into 2 different games.

SFVAE is a free update for the players who already bought SFV, they are just relaunching the game rebranded in a pack with the 2 season passes to get more sale but keeping their word.
