It is really hard. Even moreso as I do art streams and I'll sometimes go completely silent as I'm coming up with designs, and art isn't the most interesting thing to talk about.

I usually try to have like a few subjects of the moments I can shoot the shit about, even by myself

the trick is to already have started the game before you start the stream so you can lie about playing on the hardest difficulty (it's really on easy tho shhh)

My biggest impediment to streaming is I have a lisp and folks would probably make fun of it online. 😭

It seems fun to do casually. I think I could talk and play at the same time.

Oh my god. So today I streamed some RE2 speedrunning. It was going really well. Not a lot of dead air and some mad things happened. I don't know know if a background program updated but my CPU went mental. So the first half of my stream is buttery smooth and the second half is a laggy mess D: which is a shame as the second is where all the wild stuff happened.

Sounds fun to me. :P

Guys we should become the wu-tang of streamers. Just all randomly join in royal rumble style to some game we play and try to have live conversation.

I never got to it before, but I'm watching the Final Fight Streetwise LP at long last.

This game is not good.

Edit: I'm in Pat's 4th attempt at escorting 2-ILL and Vanessa. Good grief.

Edit 2: 5th.

I had started watching Pat's playthrough of FFVII, but eh....I don't think it's for me.

Based on his comments both in this stream and past conversations, Pat feels like one of those people who specifically identify Tifa based on "the two big things" and would anonymously rant about the chest nerf online.

Believe me, I love Pat's humor most of the time, but if he's going to spend the majority of the playthrough going on about her tits and not-so-subtly referencing certain Rule 34 material most of us are aware of, I think I'd be better off watching Max's playthrough since he's a more "measured" fan.

Also I was never a fan of "let's give the characters stupid names and laugh at them the whole time!". I know that's just me taking FFVII too seriously, but it's more like I roll my eyes over the same 20 year old jokes people still toss around.

Pat's a big dumb baby who does big dumb baby things for the laughs, but he also internalizes a lot of stuff that you think he glosses over.

He had a pretty long section on the podcast where he described the way that FF7 frames its direction and scene structure and how masterful it is.

I'd rather hear Pat talk about the games he plays, than play the games he plays.

I'm not accusing Pat of being a "fake fan" or anything. I've also heard his discussions on FFVII in the podcast and very largely agree on most of his points.

It just seems when it comes to Tifa he's strictly part of the "I just like them big 'ol tiddies!" crowd. Even if he's (half) kidding, he's also fueling the more annoyingly toxic side of the fanbase who are still drawing "protest fan-art" to this day.

Eh, I find it mostly playful. And like Woozies says, he actually comes out much more eloquent on casts. Everytime I hear him tweet or say something dumb, he usually rectifies/acts sensible on the cast

I feel like Woolie gets pestered enough by people to watch whatever anime is hot at the moment. And he is only now getting around to watching HxH after several years of SEW sporting a channel built solely around telling Woolie to watch HxH.

Woolie probably spent a lot of time sympathizing with Liam whenever Liam would get bombarded by anime talk on Twitter and what not.

Didn't people pressure Woolie into watching Goblin Slayer when it was "the big new thing" and he ended up hating it? Then had to defend his opinion from the same people? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Whatever happened to Goblin Slayer anyway? It never sounded like my cup of tea but it rather suddenly went from people being super enthusiastic about it to no one ever talking about it.

I know people on the subreddit have made videos detailing why Woolie should watch Symphogear. The Recommendation Gang gets really into aggressive sharing.

The subreddit is a weird place. Every week or so some media property catches on and it dominates discourse for a while. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing (given the status of SBFP, it's nice that the community can still find a focus), but it can be tiring to see "SHUT UP AND GO WATCH/REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN" about any old show/game/anime day-in day-out. It's 50% that, 25% r/gaming and 25% r/shitpostcrusaders. Also something to do with Pat's streams (and occasionally one of Matt's videos).

I can kind of see why it might be frustrating when you see Woolie give in and watch something and it's fucking Goblin Slayer.
