It's like Berserk but if Berserk jumped right to the eclipse and didn't try to build any emotional attachment to the characters whatsoever.

To be fair, Log Horizon also had some of that nasty stuff as well in the original story that the Anime cleaned up.
To be fair to Goblin Slayer, it was the manga that really up the graphic-ness of the entire thing which cause the problem now.

They're both Acclaim games based on comics I'm pretty sure nobody actually read, so it's understandable
I've felt the "Just pick a top tier" SO god damn hard, but rather in digital card games
I really want to play this combination of cards-
"In these factions? Just play the meta deck"
But I really like the interaction of these mechanics-
"Just play the deck where every card is game-winning on it's own"
But it just feels better to do it this way-
"Your combo will never get to go off, it's too slow and fragile and you'll get hammered. Just play the meta deck"
Hey maybe I can innovate-
"You really think you're the only one who tried? Dozens to thousands of better deckbuilders already had the same idea and ditched it. You're not special. You're not cracking the code. Just play the meta deck and win"
Thankfully draft modes exist, I get to crush dreams while being creative when the "top tier" is constantly changing because of card availability.

Finally slowpoked my way to the end of Pat's Yakuza 6 playthrough and holy shit, that is some stupid bullshit. It was great that Super Eyepatch Wolf was there when Pat discovered the Secret of Onomichi (boy, was that fucking stupid), and Pat tearing up when hearing Kiryu's obligatory "I may not make it back" letter then doing a 180 when he discovers it's addressed to Daigo is great, but man, I don't think you can top the cop out that is Kiryu going into the final battle intending to kill some motherfuckers and he literally does everything but kill people.
That said, I wonder how crazy different these games would be if Akiyama was the protagonist, like Pat thought he'd be after Yakuza 4.
