Geez, Mario Maker 3DS sold really well for a scaledown game stripped of its core online level sharing late in the 3DS's life.

Wonder if this can hit 10 million lifetime.

Well deserved. While I'm bummed about a couple missing features here and there, it's just so damn good to make Mario levels on the go that it's ridiculous. I already made like 8 levels, working on my 9th. My fiancé who practically never played Mario is spending hours and hours on making fun little levels. My gaming buddies are sharing and playing our stuff all the time and sending back their fiendish challenges to us. The game's a damn riot, simple as that.

Hope this means we get some healthy DLC support, it's a great game but I can definitely think of a few things I'd like added.

My pipe dream is that we get a whole new DLC campaign with more prebuilt levels like the Xenoblade DLC but that's fanboy stuff.

The game that can be played for years.

Competitive online multiplayer is pure fun.

Well deserved.

The Japanese sales are really interesting- sounds like worries about initial retail sales are more than mitigated by digital.

I just want the 8-bit character skins back.

I want an ability to make world maps and release big packs of levels and world maps as makeshift "games".

Quite a few ERA user's who's Mario "games" I'd play a lot.

That's the big one, yeah. I'd also like to see secret exits get put in (could tie into the map idea). Also feel like there needs to be the option to put in pools of water; either the whole level is underwater or you have a rising tide.

That's what me and a lot of other people in the M-C thread tried to say. MM2 is a game you want to have on the system the whole time since you play it every now and then. Plus it is part of the NSO voucher program and additionally it came out during the Switch eShop bundle promotion where you got a free eShop voucher with every Switch.

me too, i loved the story mode levels. i hope they add more to that mode.

The story mode setup was cute, but I think it would be nice if they did a DLC campaign where it's laid out on a map. Would make it feel more like an adventure with a sense of progression.

i feel like they're gonna keep that for pre-designed mario games, they wanted to present the story mode in MM2 like the levels are designed by different characters you talk to. at best i can see an expansion to story mode being tied to making a new wing for peach's castle, or more likely just basic jobs given by toad.

Aim higher.

New selectable characters. They too would share their properties with Mario and would be usable across all styles.

Less quantity, sure, but more thorough integration than those 8-bit skins.

characters - and also power-ups that turn you into those characters. so you can have levels that need peach's float, luigi's high jump, and toad's speed.

I also feel like it could use more bosses. At least give us the SMB3 versions of the Koopalings.

All of this won't happen until Nintendo puts in a 'Don't enable this level for multiplayer' button. Same with the amiibo costumes.

No, since these characters in SMM2 are pretty much glorified skins, I don't think any new ones would have different properties.

Koopalings would be a fairly easy way to boost the boss ensemble for the entire game.

I just finished the story mode and I'm speechless about how well designed done of the levels are. This game ironically made me appreciate Nintendo made Mario games even more and I plan on playing them all once again.

Edit: and getting new super Mario Bros U Deluxe because I never played the WiiU games

what's this about? some meme i'm missing?

The poster had literally said in the past day or two about how SMM2 sales had "petered out" and when pressed for what data he was using to come this conclusion was using geo weekly and like, UK weekly charts.

oh i see. it's still doing pretty good in the UK and japan charts tho, and i'm sure will do well in its second month NPD as well. like most nintendo games, specially the once-in-a-generation titles, it'll keep selling for years and end up 5x or higher than its launch numbers.

Well deserved! Such an amazing game, just like the original, I've spent 100hrs with it so far. One of my favs of the year (and probably gen overall) for sure.

Great work for a great game. Endless amounts of fun for 60 dollars is a steal of a deal. Hoping we get the SM2 DLC people are speculating about (or better yet a 3D map maker, although I suppose that will likely be saved for SMM3)
