Hi hello Smash fan here.

I've never really cared about getting competitive in this game, but someone linked a video of Bayonetta's true 0% combo kill (which I understand was later nerfed) in another thread, and it got me curious...

Anyone have videos of actual true combos that you can't tech out of? I've googled a few, but it seems like they depend on people just not doing anything during the whole combo, which... seems like the opposite of "true" to me. I have a Melee-fanboy bud who hates 4 because you can't do true combos, and that video seems like concrete evidence that he's lying. Need more! If they exist.

Every episode my co-host Sean and I are going to predict Smash Switch character, stage, and item additions for different Nintendo franchises. It'll be weekly for a few episodes, then bi-weekly as we wait for more info. I'm pretty pumped about it!

If this is too self-promotion-ish, I apologize and can obviously stop posting about it here. However, I wanted to put it in this thread for two reasons:

1) This community is the reason it exists. I participated in Heath's Smash 4 Prediction Contest on the last forum and got 2nd place, which is a big reason I thought it'd be fun to do my predictions in podcast form this go around. The excitement and creativity that revolves around all the Smash speculation in this community is the other major thing that inspired me to make this podcast, and so I thought it might appeal to the interests of some of you.

2) I want to feature your predictions on the podcast. As I just mentioned, I really love all the speculation you guys come up with,and I think it'd be great to read some of your character, stage, etc ideas on future episodes. The next episode is going to cover the main Mario franchise, meaning everything covered by the Mushroom logo in Smash games. (Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Wario stuff will be covered in a later episode.) If you have a Mario related prediction (especially any deep cut choices, since I'll already be evaluating more obvious candidates like Captain Toad and New Donk City) and want it on the next episode, I'd love to see it! Feel free to PM me or send an email to asmashingtheory[at]gmail.
EDIT: The Mario episode is now live. Our next episode is going to cover the Mario spinoffs, aka the Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Wario franchises. If you have any crazy suggestions for characters/stages/items/etc from any of those, totally PM or email me! Tweeting would also be dope.

D'you think they'll give the FE characters some of their alternative costumes from FEH? Or some Odyssey costumes to Mario?

Just wanted to say good job on the podcast Thores. I listened to the first two episodes. Both of you are very well spoken which is a big compliment. Most fan stuff I see on Youtube, they can sound a big awkward. But your podcast sounds like you two have been doing it for a long time. Not sure if you had. Keep up the great work!

IntelliHeath I would legitimately update my avatar (because I am a loser and would never doubt the dragon that is Ridley) but I cannot update my avatar. It keeps telling me that it exceeds the file size even when I reduced the file size lower than 50KB.

Ok it worked but I had to convert it to an jpeg instead of a png which has that white background which messes up my nice dark theme :(. Oh well the price I pay for Him. Speaking of which I have a video I want to send to IntelliHeath but I need to compress it to a gif which is hard to do so ill post it when I can upload it (does anyone know how to compress a gif)

I can't believe any of this is real. You can just tell this game was such a labor of love from the developers. Something like this, something with all these characters, items and everything else that makes up this kind of spectacle should never be taken for granted. This game is truly special.

Hours later and i'm still shook.

Or Toadette.... or even Snifit, which was her partner in Duel Boards from her debut spinoff game, Mario Party 3.
Anything, really, instead of a generic Toad recolor.

I've never been huge into Smash Bros. I played a chunk of Brawl on Wii and a tiny smidge of 1 and melee before that, but I decided I just didn't like the way the games feel.
I kinda think that has to do with the controls. It's a 2D plane but it's on an analogue stick. It just doesn't gel with me.
So, my question is, is using an arcade stick viable? Can I bind everything I need on an 8-button arcade stick?

Wanted to scratch the itch so I reinstalled Smash Wii U. Based on some Googling it sounds like Cloud, Mario, and Lucina are good characters to start off with to start learning how to play properly and nail down fundamentals - is that accurate? And if so, is there a particular one of those three?

I won't be entering tournaments or anything (the most I'll probably do is just play randoms online until Ultimate comes out), but I want to start learning how to play the right way.

Cloud isn't the best for fundamentals since he has a really poor recovery that is very punishing for new players. Still a top 3 character in general however, so you should tinker with him just to know what to expect from other players.

Mario and Lucina are also decent characters to start with.

Odd, I rarely have any issues with LAN Adapters but I guess it really depends on your router or cable company (or your friends' or opponents' connections?) there are many factors so it's harder to downsize to find out the flaws. Do it happens all of time on your end?
