Would the ESRB have to view and rate promotional material like the 50-Fact Extravaganza? It's possible that they heard about Mewtwo from that.I feel like it was more of the guy being told that Mewtwo was coming, & not seeing Mewtwo in those images surprised him.
The ESRB would mainly have to see the game & everything questionable in it, not so much the promotional material elsewhere.Would the ESRB have to give rating for promotional material like the 50-Fact Extravaganza? It' s possible that they heard about Mewtwo from that.
It would not be rated at the time of when that video was taken.Would the ESRB have to give rating for promotional material like the 50-Fact Extravaganza? It' s possible that they heard about Mewtwo from that.
I don't know. His face looks awful.

Here's a high quality pic of that fake Isaac render. I think the eyes and eyebrows could be a little sharper but they did a good job.
I don't know when Wii U was rated but I'm not sure if it was in August which was when the ESRB leak happened. Besides I don't think they'd need information on Mewtwo at that point and it wouldn't affect the rating much and would matter more closer to release so like February 2015Would the ESRB have to give rating for promotional material like the 50-Fact Extravaganza? Yes, and I would add that leaks from third parties are much more common than from Nintendo. And he clearly has some sort of source or sources inside of Namco based on several of his past leaks.Him having sources everywhere but Nintendo would explain a lot, and excuse the blind spots.
The biggest argument against Noctis is that Final Fantasy is explicitly listed as "FINAL FANTASY VII" in Smash.
It would not be rated at the time of when that video was taken.
Oh yeah right, I forgot that the 50-Facts was so close to release. I wonder how the ESRB leaker was tipped off to Mewtwo then.I don't know when Wii U was rated but I'm not sure if it was in August which was when the ESRB leak happened. Honestly I'm shocked it took this long to have a render that would make him look closer to the other anime characters like Fire Emblem and Shulk. The fact that Agnes leak a while back had Agnes on model to the Smash style and had Issac look different to that was weird.

They probably were just making an assumption?Oh yeah right, I forgot that the 50-Facts was so close to release. I wonder how the ESRB leaker was tipped off to Mewtwo then.
I bet Square Enix made that a stipulation of the deal.Which I dislike by the way, they're going to say it's Final Fantasy VII and yet Cloud's symbol is just the "FF" instead of the meteor? That's just lame. Almost as much as it having only two tracks.
that hair is bananas

The former. He was missing some characters, but all of the information was correct at some point in development (Chrom was confirmed in a magazine (forget if it was his Column or a random interview) and a placeholder file for the Rhythm Heaven series icon was datamined from the Wii U version)What did the consensus on the validity of Gematsu end up being? Was their information just from very early in development and later proven wrong, or was it a mix of correct and incorrect sources?
Early planning document info. Makes sense considering what he got and what was missing or was wrong. Especially in the case of Chrom and Chorus Kids which have evidence to being considered for Smash 4 at some pointWhat did the consensus on the validity of Gematsu end up being? A rhythm heaven rep really is the one that got away, huh?The former. He was missing some characters, but all of the information was correct at some point in development (Chrom was confirmed in an interview with Sakurai and a placeholder file for the Rhythm Heaven series icon was datamined from the Wii U version)
and i bet it passes this game entirely
I completely disagree that missing information is a negative mark in any way. He has never claimed that the information he is giving out is in any way comprehensive. As it stands, the only bit of wrong info he has yet to give out regarding Smash is Isabelle as an echo, and even that is shakey since he was unsure himself -- and so were most people when they saw her reveal. It doesn't matter if Verge has one source or many sources. If he is willing to put any info out there, he is saying that he feels confident in that source. When someone gets stuff wrong or are completely missing major information, it hurts their credibility. It's doesn't excuse them. It means their sources are bad or he's flat out lied to.
Nintendo of Canada on facebook made a post saying "Come to Arcada MTL, the bar, in Montreal on 10.18 for a very special event."
Nobody can see the post outside of people living in Quebec. Additionally, the post says they can't say what the game is until Wednesday.
Someone (miscdog) DM'd the bar. The bar told him that even THEY don't know what the game is, Nintendo wont' tell them. It's a complete surprise. Nintendo is being secretive, oddly, so it would be weird if it was for something such as Pokemon Let's Go, though there is a chance that it could be possibly anything.
Maybe there will be given an updated demo, and that a new reveal, or direct, will be having a watch party at the bar (and also viewable live on youtube of course, not specifically just at the bar, that'd be silly)
There's not much else reason to be this secretive, or else the bar would know already, they don't even know themselves.

A post was also added on the bars page saying "3 days remain". Proof: https://www.facebook.com/pg/ArcadeMTL/posts/
I think that on wednesday a direct will be announced and this viewing party will be watching it.
Spread the good word of the Bar theory everyone! Lol
I can't believe it just because I swear there's been times where a suuuuuuper secret press event happened and it was likeUmm apparently there might be something on the 18th.

I'm just going to leave this here, I'm not sure what I think of it, besides defensively assuming it's nothing. I'd like to be surprised though
Nintendo of Canada is hosting a special event in a bar in Montreal on Thursday. They don't say what the event is about and the bar has said that they don't know what it is, but Nintendo of Canada's post says they'll reveal what it is on Wednesday. Also the bar made a post that said it was 3 days before the event, for any Skull Kid stans out there.

100% this is nothing. No way is Canada getting a scoop on anything Smash.I'm just going to leave this here, I'm not sure what I think of it, besides defensively assuming it's nothing. I'd like to be surprised though

For this specific game he has been very very accurate thus far.
