Hello, Era.

In this thread, we share pictures of tacos. The idea is similar to my Pizza Era thread... we post pictures of tacos, but they must be real pictures. No photos from Google or from the menu. Only real pictures.

The tacos can be from chains, local places, homemade... any tacos!

Just ate these tacos a few minutes ago. $0.75 USD each. Free cooked onions, small potatoes, jalapeños and lemons.

Double tortilla, onion and cilantro.

These are some tacos I ate a few weeks ago. These were $18 pesos each (around $0.90 USD). The salsa was absolutely delicious.

shoutous to korean ones. I've only ever been to a handful of legit mexican places and have always ordered something besides tacos.

I love this idea. My girlfriend and I make tons of different kinds of tacos. I'll be back next time we make some to post pics.

I don’t know if this counts, but my wife just received a tiny custom handmade glass taco commission (which she says was shipped from Poland) for her Deadpool figure at work.

Make your own with some shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, tortillas and your choice of meat. Shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes if you feel like it.
Shredded cheese? Sour cream? Not recommened for his first taco. Nothing wrong with Tex-Mex tacos, but my recommendation would be to try a little bit more autentic before trying Tex-Mex food.

But that's just me. Like I said, not trying to be disrespectful.

Agreed. Try and make something more authentic. Harder to find ingredients some recipes might call for like mexican oregano and specific chiles can be ordered online from thechiledude.com (IIRC) for real cheap.

As a Mexican living in Japan my options are barely existent :( But these were okay:

Tacos de mole and tacos al pastor, I wouldn't go to this place in Mexico, but it's as good as it gets here. At least it's not tex mex!

Post hardshells and your the scum of the Earth. When I learn the location of the evil that design these atrocities they will be receiving a very strongly worded letter and a free lunch to know what true tacos taste like.

These are from a taqueria called Arandas. They are a little bit expensive ($25 pesos, around $1.25 USD), but totally worth it. Free nopales (cactus?) and beans.

This was the first time I made carnitas at home. I thought I'd go all the way and make homemade tortillas as well. Made some salsa de ajo to go with it and threw on some cilantro and onions at the last minute. We grew up with radishes on the side for tacos and other dishes at home so I thought I'd throw some in too.

Homemade tortilla again but for breakfast. These are chorizo, egg, and nopal. Big chunks of queso fresco on top. After chilaquiles and pancakes, this is my favorite breakfast.

I've got a long way to go before I nail down the proper tortilla making technique but these taste way better than store bought.

On to the real pros. Taco truck down the street from me. Everything I've had there is good, except for the chicharron which was a disappointment.

These are tripa dorada, with the usual toppings but I put some pickled onions on top.

These were al pastor

Everything looks delicious, but it's missing some salsa/sauce. It feels incomplete without something spicy.

The traditional tacos from every Thursday:

Some onions:

Spicy salsa:

And a few drops of lemon (I think it's called lime in English):

Those look so good!

English generally distinguishes between limes and lemons as separate fruit, with limes being greener, rounder and smaller. I know in French lemons and limes are citron and citron vert respectively, but not sure about Spanish.

In Spanish (well, at least in México) we say:

  • Limón (lemon in English): small, dark green and sour
  • Lima (lime in English): bigger than limón, yellow and sweeter

In México the names are the opposite than in English (USA).
