indeed.
I hope that "VFR" on Steam isn't something to worry about. Any chance the PC version is locked to 30 fps outside of battle?
I wish it was 60 FPS field on Switch, would be nice to have it portable but I always try to play my Switch outside my house but I end up never doing that so I may just get the PS4 version for the 60 FPS overall...
Decisions, decisions.
It's important in every game for everything because it just looks and plays worse.I don't understand why 30FPS on the field is even important in a Tales game, rarely anything happens there to justify anything better. Combat is where is at.

Cutscenes and visual elements esp. in towns should look better and feel a bit smoother.
Any sort of movement or camera motion at 30fps is noticeably slowNo, just no. 30FPS on the field never affected anything in previous Tales games so I don't see why is anything different here.
(Seriously, are you going to worry that you're going to get caught by the rather slow monsters on the field?).
Well, cutscenes were not even mentioned.

That's your opinionYeah, but again, nothing on Tales fields really justify anything more.
When that is the only option sure. It is fine but just knowing that a better version exist on another console I own makes me consider the PS4 version over the Switch version. One of the people you originally replied to said they try to play their switch outside but end up not doing it. If you play your switch only in TV mode than the PS4 is the clear winner. I wouldn't blame people who play handheld if they went for the Switch version either. I myself am a bit torn on which version I should get.Well, it has been common opinion during most entries in the series.
(Aside from Zestiria but then again, that was poorly optimized as a whole).
I hope that's what it actually means.Variable refresh!!!
We did it fam
Gonna be busting out artes at 165fps
True but I'm optimistic because they literally say variable refreshI hope that's what it actually means.
It would be the first Tales of game on PC that isn't 60 FPS capped.
Was Vesperia the last big budget Tales Of ?
Every game since felt like it was dirt cheap
