Going with a Ghosts sequel over Infinite Warfare would be more proof that we live in a cursed Earth.

Infinite Warfare got a lot of unwarranted hate. I honestly thought the Single Player was one of the best of the year along with Titanfall 2. Yes, the SP could be improved and the villain was probably the worst they've ever had with barely a presence. But overall, I loved the campaign. Much better change of pace from previous COD games.
The multiplayer was proper shit though. Didn't enjoy it one bit and went back to playing BLOPS III.
I know Infinity Ward can give us good SP games after Infinite Warfare... I hope they don't throw SP out the window like Treyarch. Treyarch was my favourite COD campaign creators till they scrapped it.

Probably a reference to Ghost from MW2 more than anything. Modern Warfare 4 would be a surefire way to get COD fans excited more than Ghosts or Infinite Warfare (despite me loving IW's campaign). Give me more Captain Price and Ghost (well Ghost 'like' anyway) action in MW4's single player and I'll be a happy man but then I'm one of those folks that enjoyed the whole MW trilogy single player wise.

Is there enough there to determine one way or the other if it's specifically Ghost from MW? (I'd much rather an MW4!)

People don't care about the campaign. Infinite Warfare MP was bad so the game was bad. Also a lot of hatred came out of them locking Modern Warfare Remastered behind an $80 edition of a game they didn't want.
There's a few old school Infinity Ward-ers, including Joel Emslie, that went to Respawn who have now returned to IW.
They still have Taylor Kurosaki there as Narrative Director too so it will be interesting to see what they're doing this year as the story they created for Infinite Warfare back in 2016 was absolutely fantastic.

Ghosts had the stupidest campaign and I loved every second of it, and I hate the sequel tease at the end is never gonna be followed up on.
They better bring back the alien extinction mode, much prefer this than stale same ol zombies in every cod now no originality

Pretty sure the guy who voices Gaz had in his twitter bio awhile back he was working on MW4 so it's probably that.
Lord MW4 will get me ridiculously hyped, it's been too long. If it's Ghosts 2 I'll be disappointed and I loved Ghosts multiplayer (hated the single player, only other Cod campaign I didn't like was BO3). It really should be Infinite Warfare 2 though, the multiplayer sucked but god damn that campaign was amazing.
