Noticed that Ridge Racer Type 4 was available as well when searching for Ridge Racer 2. Showed as free (presumably because I bought it on PS3/PSP).

Was Ridge Racer Type 4 also just made available to buy? Either way, I'll get both of them

you know what. I think it may have.
Was a bit confused as the price tracking sites had a "price" listed so I thought it was always purchasable, but is now listed as the same price as the above as of today.
Just gonna add it to the Title/OP anyway lol

Might be worth checking the Classics Catalogue on the PS Plus app on the Home Screen to see you have anything else to claim. I've managed to add Super Stardust Portable and Pursuit Force so far.

Maybe this is an absolutely bone headed question but why are some of the games purchasable at both $10 and $15?

Is this the first time ps1 games have been sellable for PS4 and PS5 or am I forgetting some other earlier purchase?

So it was just a period of PS+ exclusivity after all and not Namco refusing to sell them (or offer the free upgrades).

The free upgrades for Tekken 2 and Mr Driller in European regions looks like it may be broken at the moment, both games have free upgrades on the US and UK stores. Free upgrade for Ridge Racer Type 4 looks to be working everywhere.

Quick reminder that if you have a PS3 still you can usually buy the games with free upgrades cheaper on that store which then entitles you to the PS4/PS5 version.

My RRT4 uk store shows the ps5 version is in my library but that may be because of PS+. Checking versions there is also RRT4 with a different icon showing as ps4/5 which is 'purchased'

So is the ridge racer 4 port good in the EU? Heard some very mixed things across all the games for the PS1 collections

The main issue with the release is you cannot use dpad steering. The emulator is configured with a Dual Shock controller attached and they haven't provided an interface to turn this off or change the controller type (and this was one of those games that required you to press the analog button on the controller to enable dpad steering).

Other than that I think it plays well. You have both NTSC and PAL options to choose between. You cannot (officially) turn off the higher resolution rendered graphics so you may or may not like the look of them. For example things which blended in to this distance in the original resolution release are now clearly visible thanks to the higher resolution and this doesn't always look great.

R4 shows up as unavailable for purchase because "I already own Ridge Racer Type 4".
This is on the Italian PS Store.
Is any other European country facing the same issue?

So, the games were removed from the PS Plus Premium? I checked myself on the PS5 and TEKKEN 2 and Mr Driller are available only for streaming (not download).

Maybe this will change when the lineup drops later today, because in Europe they are still included.

They are (and will be) available on Plus Premium and for purchase, like all the other classic games.

EDIT: You are right, sorry. I was talking about RRT4, but maybe that will change for it too.

No, they are not at the moment. Tekken 2 and Mr. Driller, like I said, are only available to purchase and not on PS Plus Premium.

I really like that Sony allows us to buy their classic games. I still scratch my head why Nintendo keeps it classic games locked in their subscription.
