Genius Wore Jacket with His Company’s Name and Phone Number on It While Storming the Capitol, Kicking in Window

Federal authorities identified an Ohio man as a Capitol invader by merely looking at the name and number on the jacket he was wearing while storming the Capitol and kicking in a window. As a result, Troy Faulkner, 39, now faces several federal charges.

The FBI said that it saw Faulkner on a YouTube video kicking in a Capitol window. But before that happened, the defendant was facing away from the camera and his jacket was exposed. This was important because that was a jacket identifying his painting business:
This makes Faulkner at least the second Capitol rioter to be busted because of the jacket they chose to wear on Jan. 6.

How can you look like a child and a child molester at the same time
That Patrick guy looks like an evil Noah Caldwell Gervais.

And I gotta say I love reading this thread and seeing that some indictments are happening, but I reckon sentences will be soft for a lot of people (Especially those in law enforcement). "Otherwise blameless life" and all that. Will be happy to be proven wrong however.

Finally found her

“I was not part of a plot—organized, whatever,” Powell, who was speaking from an undisclosed location, told me. “I have no military background. . . . I’m a mom with eight kids. That’s it. I work. And I garden. And raise chickens. And sell cheese at a farmers’ market.”
Powell said that, before the election of Donald Trump, in 2016, she held a wide range of political opinions. “My views kind of fall all over the place,” she said. “I guess you could say that I’m more libertarian at heart.” Though her county supported Trump by wide margins in both 2016 and 2020, Powell told me that she didn’t vote for him in his first run, and her social-media posts during that time include sharp criticism of him. “Trump makes me uncomfortable as a presidential candidate,” she wrote in a Facebook post that linked to a piece about Trump’s lack of civility. “What disturbs me is that so many people support this type of person.” She also told me that she took issue with his environmental policies. During his tenure in the White House, however, she embraced Trump and, eventually, the misinformation that he nurtured about the coronavirus and election fraud.
“I won’t get a vaccine either. I hear what you’re saying about the whole world being in on the conspiracy as far as the corona virus goes.” On December 27th, she posted, “I’m unashamedly a ‘super spreader,’ ” attaching photographs of crowded, mask-free holiday and birthday parties. That day, she uploaded a video of a large maskless meal, during which several children said, “No masks,” and Powell could be heard saying, “The masks are total bullcrap. You guys just need to get out there and live. Get arrested—it’s fine.”
Powell said that her only regrets were the possible repercussions for her children. Asked whether she would have acted differently, given the chance, she said, “I try not to think about that. There are some things that are just worth blocking out.”

‘Stephen Ignoramus’ Arrested After Posting Videos of Himself at Capitol Riots Telling Viewers to ‘Repent and Believe in Jesus’

The end may be near for the freedom of an accused U.S. Capitol insurrectionist known as “Stephen Ignoramus.” Arrested by the FBI on Monday, a man legally named Stephen Maury Baker allegedly broke into the seat of U.S. legislative spouting fire and brimstone.

“I’m Stephen. I’m a live-streamer and a musician. We’re having fun, huh? Repent, and believe in Jesus,” Ignoramus could be seen declaring on his live-stream upon entering the Capitol rotunda.
He appeared to revel in ignominy. After exiting the building, Baker allegedly posted a video in which he tells an off-camera person that he was on “ABC and Reuters and shit.”

“I was inside for like an hour, dude. I was one of like the last 10 people in there. I’m on Instagram and YouTube. I’m Stephen Ignoramus. I don’t matter though; this shit is history,” he was quoted.

With the assistance of at least four anonymous tippers, the FBI said they could match the person who filmed and posted videos under the Stephen Ignoramus name to North Carolina native Stephen Maury Baker.

As of Monday, the only videos remaining on Stephen Ignoramus’s YouTube channel were four videos of him proselytizing and playing Christian music on an acoustic guitar.

Defiant QAnon Adherent Who Allegedly Expressed ‘Need to Kill’ Biden Released to Home Confinement

QAnon adherent and alleged Capitol Hill insurrectionist Kenneth Grayson was granted release during an initial appearance in Washington, D.C. federal court on Monday afternoon.

The 51-year-old Pennsylvania resident was previously ordered released on bond by the Western District of Pennsylvania over the weekend despite vociferous objections from the FBI and Pittsburgh-area Assistant U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song.
That order was held in abeyance pending intervention by the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office–who ultimately said they did not want Grayson locked up pending trial in spite of his alleged lack of remorse over the Jan 6. attack on the U.S. Capitol Complex.

“The government is not seeking detention in this case,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Smith told Magistrate Judge Robin Meriweather.
Judge Meriweather very slowly, to the point of intentionally ploddingly and with extreme skepticism in her voice, asked if pre-trial services really wanted the defendant to turn himself in since D.C. wasn’t even seeking his detention in the present case.

“Do you. Want him? To…turn himself in?” she asked.
Grayson’s original release on bail, despite being paused, ruffled feathers in the U.S. Department of Justice.

“He harbors continued aspirations of violence,” Song said last week. “He would do it again, in his own words.”

Backwards MAGA Hat Guy, Who Was Already Wanted in New Jersey, Charged for Assaulting Law Enforcement at Capitol

Bucks County, Pennsylvania man Ryan Samsel, 37, has been arrested and charged with federal crimes for his alleged actions during the insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Samsel took off his jacket, turned his MAGA hat backwards, and charged the barricades.
The violence at the Capitol isn’t been Samsel’s first run-in with the law. He is on parole in Pennsylvania and is wanted in Riverside, New Jersey on an assault warrant dating back to 2019.

Samsel was arrested on Saturday in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The FBI identified Samsel by using video footage from the Capitol riot and running his image through several law enforcement databases. He is now charged with assaulting an officer, obstructing an officer during their official duties, and obstructing an official proceeding.

This is so bizarre, the guy wants to kill Biden, is not remorseful, yet does not need to be locked up awaiting trial.

CNN has been doing more digging and found this bit of trivia: Some of the people who stormed the capitol didn't bother to vote in the 2020 election. Peak privilege to be upset enough to overthrow an election outcome you didn't participate in.

Many involved in the insurrection professed to be motivated by patriotism, falsely declaring that Trump was the rightful winner of the election. Yet at least eight of the people who are now facing criminal charges for their involvement in the events at the Capitol did not vote in the November 2020 presidential election, according to an analysis of voting records from the states where protestors were arrested and those states where public records show they have lived. They came from states around the country and ranged in age from 21 to 65.

Yeah, so idiotic, but then again that's the point.

There was a thread about it yesterday.

Zachary Alam, 'Helmet Boy' Who Stormed Capitol, Charged After Family Tip-Off

Zachary Alam has been charged over the storming of the U.S Capitol after a family member tipped off authorities.

Alam has been identified as the rioter known as "Helmet Boy" who was captured on video using a helmet to smash a window to the Speaker's Lobby during the January 6 riot.

Prosecutors say Alam was seen wearing a fur-lined hat while storming the Capitol building and can be observed "entering through the window of the Senate Wing entrance to the Capitol."

He was then seen "trying to breach a barricaded door to the Speaker's Lobby, a hallway that connects to the House of Representatives chambers," according to court documents unsealed on Monday.

This is great. Removing their rights to own guns with this would mean the police officers are permanently out of their career choice.
I hadn't considered that! You'd think that participating in an insurrection against the government would be enough to end police/military careers, but we all know America isn't quite that sane. Whatever it takes!

The cojones on this asshole.

One of the Capitol insurrection defendants who was granted pretrial release, Jenny Cudd, has asked the court for permission to travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico this month for a prepaid "work related bonding retreat" (she has to get a judge's permission to leave the country)

There's no way the judge actually grants that, right? I'd like to think that the courts haven't been corrupted to the point that they'll allow certain types of criminals to flee the country, but at this point it wouldn't surprise me.

She was already given the okay. There's a thread here about it. And a bonus to go with the news of a white terrorist being allowed to leave the country to vacation...

I can't quite figure out what is different about his case...

Does the color look off in this picture for anybody?
Edit: in all seriousness just another example of how rigged the judicial system is for people of color. Regardless of what side this person was on he should be treated the same as other protesters. (Although frankly they should all still be in jail)

What is the difference between "charged" and "indicted"? Are they the same thing and just different words for it?
My understating is the difference between being charged and indicted is who brings the charges. Is you're charged, a prosecutor brought the charges, while being indicted means a grand jury brought the charges.

From the video - "I was putting Trump above God".

Lord Jesus, seriously??? Christianity isn't the crime here, It's ignorant christians who can't even be bothered to read their own scriptures for their religion. Holy hell people. Ya'll need Jesus. It's part of the ten commandments. IT's the FIRST ONE!!!!!! This country is lost, regardless of your religious beliefs, if people are really just sheep and follow whatever they are presented with; without any critical thinking or fact/faith checking before making a decision on their belief system, hell...we really are doomed.

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath.…

I feel like that tweet or headline is a little misleading. Yes he was denied bail. He was also seen with a baseball bat hitting police (behind riot shields). Maybe there are others who are white that got bail despite being in similar circumstances but on it's own I'm not sure this is what is being implied here.
