Looks like Monolith Soft's Kou Kojima isn't the only one with some grand game plans for the future. Tetsuya Takahashi also shared some thoughts on a game he'd like to make, and it certainly seems like he wants to push some boundaries. He likened his idea to something you might see on an "American cable drama," saying the game would be, "violent and erotic and heavy." Takahashi quickly followed up by saying he didn't think he could get the greenlight to make it, although Kojima chimed in and said he thinks it would be possible. I guess we'll find out who was right in a few years

Pretty disappointing for me, unless he and his team significantly up their game when it comes to writing sexuality.

I don't think I can even call to mind a handful of games that tackle those kinds of themes well :/

Well, Bayonetta is... something similar to that, I guess. Just ask; it'll be quality either way, but if that idea motives the man more than "the regular thing", then they should try to let him use that motivation instead of rejecting it. He's got the work to back it up.

Yeah for real I feel like most devs who say they want to do something like this end up just using it as a vessel for gratuitous nudity and soft porn.

I would love for a Japanese developer to make a mature in writing and tone JRPG. Something that an adult could really bite into and come away with a really well written and great story.

I'm sorry, Monolith dosen't have that in them.

What I took from the interview is that X2 or XB3, whichever comes first, will probably be "violet, sexual and heavy" as he says. I remember When XBX was a done deal and had been out for about 6 months, Famitsu had asked its readers their opinion of the game. Among UI and other stuff I don't remember, I recall that having a better story was one of the common feedback comments. In response, Takahashi said that if he had another chance, the next thing he wanted to make was something that made you warm inside (similar to XB1). And that's exactly what happened.

So, I think this is the general direction the next game will take.
