Didn't thought that there are still many outlest who have yet to give a GOTY awards. Probably 2018 is the year with more outlets than from previous years.
seems to be, there is still DICE awards for example, plus other small websites.
That's incredible especially with RDR2 as competition. Definitely thread worthy of it passes it.

Yep. There are quite a few that are handed out in Feb, March, and April. It could win 7-8 more for sure.

This was posted here last month and doesn't count as they only cover games with single player. Only sites that cover everything are counted.
Also I find it funny that we have yet another new user who's first post here is something related to RDR2 in this particular thread. Just seems odd.
There were many more awards given in 2018 compared to 2017, so it will happen. It likely won't overtake BotW's win percentage though.
Why didn't they include Loading.se? It is literally included in all previous years,I hope it is because they didn't saw this thread yet,because there is already like 10 awards for God of War included in previous years and not this year because?We don't know
I don't think it will happen,could happen if the blog use the same criteria every year and include some awards GoW won from sites included in previous year and not this.
In addition, the second most awarded game of 2017 was the Horizon, Red Dead Redemption 2 is much bigger opponent.

The point is that there were more awards given out and counted in 2018 va 2017 which had a distinctly low number of awards counted. In terms of overall percentage, BOTW remains on the far higher end of the totem pole.
I see they added all of these recent ones except the Loading.se Reader's Choice award. I don't understand it really. That one has been on there every year but for some reason it doesn't count this year?

Horizon is a much weaker opponent than Red Dead Redemption 2, although I find it a much better game, but it does not have the name, hype and production value of a Rockstar game, as well the highest rated game of the generation with so many problems, and won more than 100 awards.
Like I said,there is a lot of awards not included for God of War included in previous years,if the blog have add GoW would close to break 200 mark.

There we go with both Playdome and ppe's awards. They were two more that have always been counted that I was expecting to roll in any day now. As long as they are counted again this year God of War is going to have BOTW beat I feel at this point.

Well it just updated and God of War now has 189 GOTY awards making it tied with BOTW. With quite a few still to go over the next 3 months (including the DICE Awards tomorrow night) it's safe to say God of War will now move into the #4 spot for most awarded games of all time. Congrats to the team.

I think it's highly likely that it wins the DICE award but either way there are around 10 more awards at least I think to come after DICE. It's going to win at least one of those.

Naughty Dog's best work vs GTA, and one of the most popular games of all time at that. Comments were open on the blog back then and I remember people posting the most random, obscure websites just to help their "team" get the edge. It was ridiculous.
Gotypicks guy is more strict on what websites he allows now it seems, and also no other year has had such levels of fanboys going at it. Naughty Dog vs Rockstar alone is tough, let alone both of their most popular games. If TLoU II and Cyberpunk come out in the same year though, and both live up to expectations, I think that'll take the cake. CDPR is even more loved than R* on the internet.
It'd be fitting, DA:I is the single worst GOTY winner on there IMO. Goes without saying but yeah, RDR 2 would've absolutely crushed it if they had came out the same year.

When will we see the box of God of War there along with the most awarded of previous years?
Probably by the end of this month or sometime in March. It's going to happen. Doesn't really matter when.
