Nah. Even if the Avengers game looks disappointing it doesn't change the fact that the MUA reminded me of a mobile game haha. MUA is giving those heavy MVC: I vibes.

Everything looks fine, just need to fix the faces.

They have the time, and I guarantee they are hearing it.

It's the atrocious character design. They looked washed out. Costumes look too desaturated and boring. Faces are uncanny and just ordinary

I feel like mixing up the races could've helped with the blandness of it all, making them more interesting, fresh and appealing.

Looks very rough and outdated in terms of visuals, animations, gameplay, and even the UI.
But it does look very slick and flashy.

It's quite fitting seeing Elsa Bloodstone there :D

It does look like something from Matteo Lolli or Derek Charm, with really vibrant coloring.

Why people are still afraid to use bright colors in adapted comic properties is baffling to me.
Especially after the Marvel movies themselves have demonstrated that they don't have to shy away from colourful designs.

The game footage is nearly halfway to Zack Snyder Presents: The MCU.

One game excites me to grind characters to max level

The other I barely recognized any of the people they mentioned because they look nothing like how they should.

I don't agree at all...Ultimate Alliance looks like the kind of game that wouldn't have got much attention outside its niche before Marvel exploded in the past few years. Visually at least, and relative to the times, it looks by the numbers. Avengers has good production values at he very least.

I think Avengers at least looks good, although I am not much of a Marvel fan. Spider-man PS4 was probably my favourite marvel anything, and that was becuase of Insomniac.

It's probably been said elsewhere but the Avengers game looks like they assumed they could use the likenesses of the movie cast and then had to replace them a few weeks before e3.

Like Thor's beard doesn't even look real. He looks like a man with a bad fake beard. How do you fuck up a beard?

Can't they both look bad? Don't see how the disappointment of one game makes another middling game look any better.

Happy to learn that they are going to change the looks of the characters, after various criticisms from the fans

"Bad look" simply isn't correct. Its going for realism, but isn't trying to be the MCU. That's very hard, and they're doing pretty solid at it so far. Plus, more costumes and looks are guaranteed because, ya know, DLC.

Both don't look good. Should have made MUA3 with the budget of Avenger Project. That would have been the best superhero game ever.

What's bad about the SE avengers tho? other than them not looking like the MCU, they look great, and it's not the devs fault that the MCU has become so ingrained into our brains.

I know right.

Just to clarify I don't think they assumed they could use the likenesses, because that would be monumentally dumb.

Almost as dumb as making a game that follows the look of a really recognisable IP but absolutely mangling some of the key aspects in a way that is instantly noticeable.

Like that would be super dumb.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 looks great! That series(and Xmen Legends) was an absolute blast, and this one looks like a return to form. I am excited and I get more excited every time I see it.

One looks like a true authentic comic book game and the other looks like a shout-out to the porn parody.

MUA looks like the zany fun I had with the X-Men Legends games. So yeah, in next month.

The Avengers game... I'll wait and see

Dude, it's a knock-off MCU look. That's literally the exact look they're going for.

We can acknowledge that not everything has to resemble the most recent films of whatever IP. That's totally fine. But no one is saying that for MUA3. Or Marvel Academy. Or Marvel Strike Force. Or anything else from Marvel, except MvCI which also was another "Not MCU, but it totally is" game.

They literally are trying to match the suits, the color palette, and the characters of the MCU. If they really wanted to make it not the MCU, they would have not had the exact same 6 characters from the films because there's been a whole host of other Avengers. Even Crossbones in that trailer was pretty damn close to his movie form, but different JUST ENOUGH.

Square Enix wants to sell you those sweet 10 dollar alt costumes for your heroes they are not even pretending.

I'll hold my judgement until I see some real Avengers gameplay footage. MUA 3 is definitely not for me.

People going a but far lately lol.
Mua cutscene models look good, but the environments are pretty poor. I watched on the tree house today. And gameplay models aren't great

Genuinely shocked by all this "MUA3 looks bad" yang being thrown around in here. It has the fidelity of a Switch Diablo style game, which is to be expected, but the art is on point and the character designs look great.

One is a game for MCU fans that looks nothing like the MCU. The other is a comic-ass comic game for comic fans.

The games have vastly different aims but it's clear where they're coming from and what kind of money they're going for. I'll be getting MUA3, mainly because I enjoy Team Ninja games from time to time and its deep roster allows my girlfriend to choose more than one female character. I waited for Avengers for years despite not liking anything Crystal Dynamics has made in a while and its first showing was pretty poor but that can still change.

The character designs in Marvel's The Avengers do not look so great.

But at the same time, that doesn't really save or help the cheap look of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. One game looks better than another, but neither one really impresses.

MUA3 doesn't look particularly all that good either, and the originals were some of my favorite couch co-op games. I suppose it just really feels like a relic, in some ways. It will likely be a blast to play, of course!

The thing that bothers me the most is that I'm very much not a fan of the recent Crystal Dynamic's Tomb Raider games. They all had terrible writing, characterization, and odd style choices. The worlds looked beautiful, sure, but the gameplay left so much to be desired aside from some of the traversal.

So, as soon as their logo came up for Avengers it killed my interest significantly, and having an all star cast composed of many of my favorite voice actors only did so much to recover that. Once again, the world looks pretty good in the sections that appeared like gameplay, but the characters look.... off.

Of course, we'll know how good it will truly turn out until it releases, and we can hope that feedback from the fans keeps them moving in a positive direction.
