Behind 0-10 going into the bottom of the first was a MLB playoff first yesterday for the Braves.

This just further cements Atlanta as the worst sports town on top of teams like Falcons who have sucked since their epic Super Bowl collapse or the laughable Hawks.

If you can count on anything it's Atlanta sports to be the worst in unimaginable ways.

Did you see what Dave Roberts did in LA? Granted, the city doesn't have the same overall issues, but what happened to the Dodgers is actually a choke. Braves just got whooped.

Cincy is a worse sports town. I haven't seen a team from Cincinnati advance in the playoffs in about 25 years.

At least the Georgia Bulldogs still have a decent shot this year.

"But they're not Atlanta-based" - That's a distinction no one in Georgia makes. The Bulldogs are the home team for all of Georgia, unless you're one of the weird ones who root for the Yellow Jackets.

I do NOT want to deal with the Cardinals fans around here, please Nationals. I was really rooting the Braves. Sad.

I don't even follow Atlanta sports anymore because it doesn't matter what the season looks like...they screw it up in the post-season.

Cleveland sports fan here. Yes, the Cavs won a championship in 2016, ending a 52 year drought, but the Indians still have a 71 SEASON drought for winning the World Series, going 0-4 since 1948, including losing in 2016 despite being up 3-1. And you might of heard of the Browns, who have never even been to the Super Bowl, and have quite a terrible recent history. Not to mention that Cavs were a joke before Lebon, and are back to being a joke without him. One title in decades doesn't change the fact that WE are the worst sports town still.

Cleveland sports fan here. This post is absolute twaddle. 2016 exercised so many demons. The curse is done. Kaput.

Naw, having terrible teams doesn't make you a bad sports town.

Seattle is a terrible sports town because of the bandwagoning, for example. That's true whether the Seahawks or Mariners win or lose.

You guys got one and recently at that. Leave it to Buffalo, Cincinnati or San Diego for now.

Local Atlanta radio (Eric Von Haessler) literally got into a lather about the tomahawk chop being banned at the last minute yesterday and was calling out/threatening the St Louis reporter who interviewed the Cardinals player asking for it.

He actually said if Atlanta loses, he would blame it on Braves management being "insincere" and banning the chop/music.

I don't honestly think the tomahawk chop would have helped overcome a 13 run deficit.

EDIT: Not to mention the tomahawk chop wasn't used by the Braves until 1991.

Since the 1970s, all Seattle has is a Super Bowl. And don't even get me started on the Mariners. At least you have a baseball team that can get to the playoffs.

Twin Cities "hold my beer"

we have 2 world series from 30 yrs ago and some WNBA championships. Twins have lost 14 (or 15?) straight playoff games, Wolves have made playoffs 9x ever and only made it out of the first round ONCE while having KG for a decade. Vikings 0/4 in SBs and have multiple NFCC chokes or blowouts. Wild are like the wolves, 1 good run and then multiple 1st rd exits. we suck. plus we only have 1 D1 NCAA school and they suck too.

The thing people miss about Atlanta is the teams love to tease you. Sure, they make it to the playoffs pretty regularly, but you know deep down it won't mean shit.

Oakland was starting to look dire with the Raiders being butt and the Athletics always coming up short. Luckily the Warriors saved that.

Unfortunately there's a strong possibility Oakland will have zero major sports teams in a couple years. Dubs left, Raiders are leaving and with Manfred threatening a relocation for the A's, it's getting dire again, just in a different way.

I might only have Oakland Roots SC in a couple years, and Idk how y'all feel about your top sports team being a third tier soccer squad, but I don't really like it. Who knows the Roots might die out too.

The Braves are one of the best regular season teams in baseball history but good god are they an abysmal playoff team post-1999.

Braves haven't won a postseason series since 2001

Athletics have lost 9th straight winner-take-all games

Twins have lost 16 straight postseason games to the Yankees

Baseball sure has some good streaks going.

The Washington Nationals have won a postseason series.

That is not a choke job. LA was the choke job.
