AoT didn't get nominated for it's OP. And personally I think it's an excellent and moving opening/song.

Those awards are dumb cause they always seem to be brigaded by the fans of one series which ends up winning everything with little regard for individual awards.

Also the whole best boy/girl thing is dodgy at best since a lot of anime fans seem to interpret that as 'best underage waifu/husbando'.

The Retsuko VA was sooooooo gud in Japanese. Her nuance and tone was just perfect.
It completely changed my mind about the whole tone and the series in general which was initially autoplayed in English for me.

Ainz isn't the antagonist of Overlord(he's a villain protagonist at worst) but ok.

I don't really agree with a lot of the nominations personally. But while I can understand that most of those are down to personal preference, there's one category that makes absolutely zero sense to me: best movie. Maquia got absolutely robbed. I don't even know how you could justify something like Fireworks over it. I don't even think I've seen a single person that actually liked Fireworks, versus the near universal praise for Maquia.

Megalobox for best animation also stands out as a pretty weird pick. The artstyle is great and 100% accomplishes the look the show is going for. But I found the actual animation part incredibly weak, particularly compared to some incredibly strong shows that came out this year.

- Bloom Into You for best animation? There's some good storyboards but I wouldn't go thaaat far.
- Pretty surprised they didn't toss Franxx a best animation nom, since it would have been an easy way to hand it a nomination while sidestepping how bad it got trashed critically. And it's definitely up there for one of the best animated "big" series of the year.
- I literally don't have any idea how they pick the best OP/EDs but they lucked into Revue Starlight this year. god bless mebachi
- Hiroko Utsumi is a great shout for best director, you gotta feel for how badly that production fell apart despite her best efforts.

Devilman Crybaby is obviously gonna be this year's show to sweep, don't think anything else will even come close.
