AAA games are "games where the developers have taken a design choice that they want to have [the game] rendered with all the compute power that the Xbox provides. So there are a lot of immersive games, very ["impactful", i think] long storyline games," says Wright.

That feeling when you're banging on about 'AAA' and 'AA' games and then a layman asks you what the fuck you're on about.

AA developers upset they don't get all the compute power.

Indie developer get no compute power. Sad...

AAA are games where the gameplay is defined by how much you game, and how much power is used while gaming on a product designed by gaming. Also other things that game at the very highest level of gaming.

Someone get the lawyer to ask him what a 'second party game' is.

Hope this stupid talk about if a game is AA or AAA finally stops then. I always said the discussion is meaningless because we have still not clear definition.
And this shows we still dont have it and never probably will that even MS itself doesnt know it

Man, guy should have gone all out with marketing speak and said, "Xbox is the best place to play immersive story focused games that require the latest computational power, best graphics, and social options. The best place to play AAA is only on Xbox...your honor.

As silly as this explanation is ... who's got a better one in this thread? lol

Ubisoft and Microsoft have mentioned that they're making AAAA games now.

So if AAA maxes out the hardware, AAAA is a game the hardware has trouble running, so a game that runs poorly?

People saying that's not accurate as if AAA means anything at all
To publishers, they use the term frequently and it usually refers to budget. But it obviously means far less to us as gamers.

But I think it would be difficult to argue against Shovel Knight not being a AAA game, and The Last of Us Part 2 being a AAA game. Even if Shovel Knight is obviously the better game.

A AAA game is a game where you make just enough of a scream to last 3 As.

Most horror games usually fall into the AAAAAAAA or AAAAAAAAAAAAAA or AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA range, depending on the above qualification.

The whole "AAA" label is just so stupid. Every developer uses it to make their games appear to be higher quality and creates this whole ridiciulous conception about game studios. Most studios use it as a mechanism to pay employees less because they make "AAA GAMEZ".
