Only watched a couple episodes back in the day and wasn't really my thing, but I'm happy for the fans. Hopefully they have a better animation budget this time.
Fucking loved this show as a kid. My sisters will be pleased as it was big part of their childhood too.
Now bring back FIllmore and American Dragon and we good.
How many shows is Disney+ gonna greenlight before they start operating at a loss like Netflix? We may not live that long...
Netflix was partly losing money because of the licensing fees right? Disney owns all of its content, which was kind of the whole point of this exercise.
Nearly everything, if not virtually everything, Disney has greenlit is merchandisable. Toys, T-shirts and backpacks are where the moneys at

Proud Family feels like one of those shows that I liked as a kid but if I rewatched now I'd see that it actually sucked.

Disney just made 5-6 billion this year on movies alone, they have the cash plus no fees to license.
They'd probably have to recast both Sticky and Filmore all things considering.
This is good. There really aren't many black animated series anymore. I think it's important to see yourself represented in the media you watch. I grew up with Static Shock, The Proud Family, and The Boondocks, and really appreciated seeing characters who look like me, front and center.
It's been confirmed by another voice actor.
