The enemy here flanks you all of the time, even on normal. You die in seconds if you're caught out of cover, and the enemy will constantly throw skills at you to force you out of cover, or get past you to shoot you in your flanks. Also the enemy will actually take cover, which is something that Anthem's enemy does not.
I was baffled that the "end game" was just running through the same mission with different enemies? lol

This stuck out to me too... In Div 1, you could tell there was a lot of copy/paste in areas. Everything in The Division 2 feels a lot more uniquely placed.I just love the varied environments. There is not alot of copy/paste going on making each area so unique....even the building interiors.
Nothing wrong with supporting and enjoy both, that is my plan.Really thinking about getting the game but Sekiro is a week later and that's a day one for me.
Hunters have been spotted in PVE and Dark Zone videos and screenshots... Massive has also commented on their return.I really hope they bring back Hunters to TD2, scary fuckers that one shot you in close combat.
Complete opposite of how I feel, DC is 5x as dense as NYC.... So much more to do, collect, and a LOT more interiors and unique locations....This just feels too much of the same thing with no real major changes other than to the environment which I am not enjoying as much and doesn't feel as dense as NYC.
Haven't got to try any endgame stuff, is it good?

Was able to play and beat on Normal the high level mission. Was a lot of fun. However....
I really wish and I know it would be a lot of extra work, but it would be really nice when you are in the end game and you can re-play these missions with the new enemies that they would modify the missions so they are not exactly the same that we played at lower levels. I am not saying totally new missions, but just make them a bit longer, with some new rooms, floors (when in buildings) just something to make them a little different. I know it is asking a lot, but I think for those of use that work our way to that point it would be a nice thing to have some stuff added to the environments etc.
I am done with the beta, put in 12 1/2 hours with my character and an additional hour or so with the specialty characters. Definite buy on my end.
To their credit, they've at least replaced the normal street gangs with hi tech military guys
Do I really need to hear "agents need backup" every 20 fucking seconds?
Oh thank God, and thank you.
After trying the endgame mission one more time with a party of four, I think I've nailed down my issue with how the game feels at that point:
The signature weapon requirements are stupid for the demolitionist and I will probably say the same for the survivalist when I try it out: needing to get kills under specific conditions that requires some cooperation from both how the AI move (so they're caught within in your abilities and/or grenades) and if you're in a group (AFAICT), hoping you get the final blow with it instead of someone else is incredibly dumb and is probably significantly lowering my actual damage output below what is expected for the mission.
Like I have no idea why it couldn't just work like either heavy ammo in destiny, or if the idea is that they're supposed to be ultimate lites in weapon form, maybe just make it drop signature ammo guaranteed after a sufficient enough performance has passed by you or your group, and I would probably have been enjoying the mission a lot more if I could reliably pull out the grenade launcher during the major enemy sections.
I was just about to say the same thing. There are objectively more things to do in the open world of TD2 vs the first game.Bolded bit, which is in a way funny as Washington is so much more densely packed with content to do and stuff to find than NYC. I don't remember finding this much loot containers, collectibles, fights, events etc. to clear within similar sized area in Division 1. Felt good to just wander around and explore as you got constantly new gear, materials etc. for it.
Agreed. The most favorable fix would to have the specialization weapons have a cooldown. For example, you have a 3-5 minute cooldown depending on your skill power and you have 15 seconds to use the predetermined amount of rounds before the the cooldown starts again. That way, you wont have to depend on rng special weapon drops.I completely agree, so far the specialization system is the thing I'm leaving this beta with the most concerns about.
Am I able to matchmake side missions? I'd like to, but i'm not seeing any options to do so before the mission starts when I show up.
For anyone who didn't know how to get signature ammo for your specialist:
I was just lucky as I was the sharpshooter and kept getting headshots with my primary so never found it a problem getting ammo but didn't know this was the reason why.
The AI for hyenas is dumb but for the Tusks it is beyond real humans. If the whole endgame is liek that then it will be unplayable.
You only thing you need to do to unlock skins is to finish the repel tusks mission right? Nothing else?
Because it is very hard. in fact exteremly hard. The only way to finish it is in a 4 payer squad.

It's doable solo, but sometimes the game bugs out and either puts you on hard instead of normal or thinks you're in a party. I realised that today when I loaded it up and the second combat area had two elite heavies.
We completed the endgame mission on normal in a 3 man group.....died maybe 3 or 4 times. It's definitely playable in a group, but I would not like it try it solo
I enjoyed the first game quite a bit, although it didn't have too long of a lasting appeal for me as it has for some people.
This beta was fun, but it just feels more of the same. I feel like this should be an expansion rather than a full new game.
Between this and Anthem, I have some thinking to do on which game I'll end up buying. I think this game will have a much better launch and it seems like it's going to have plenty of content and good changes from the first game. But Anthem feels more fresh to play due to the flying, javelins, and graphics.
Maybe I'll just get both.... lol
