Picked this up from the PSN sale after the free weekend sold me (got 12 hours out of it before buying). Really enjoying it at the moment. Bit concerned about how I'll like the endgame, but I've got a long ways to go before that, so I'm just gonna enjoy the ride for now.

(Really hope we get something like Underground eventually. That's the part of Div 1 that always sounded the most interesting to me, but I never ended up playing it.)
Targeted Loot could help you out a bit if you ever feel inclined to making a build in the endgame

Well I guess my explosive build is now useless. That's a major bummer
I'm not sure - I've never run an Explosive build. BUT before you write it off...
Destructive used to grant 20% per talent and you could stack it. Now you can't stack it, but it's been buffed to 40%. So one piece in the new update = the power of 2 in the previous update.
They've also introduced a new Specialization (Technician) that ups Skill Power and there's some new Talents that benefit from skills too - like Spark, which gives 15% weapon damage when enemies are damaged by skills/explosives/grenades etc.

Maybe just search Explosive Builds in TU6. I was pretty bummed that my builds were getting nerfed to the ground, but after 3 days of farming I now have 2-3 builds that are as strong as my best one used to be, just in different ways.

I was initially pissed with this but having played a good few hours with tu6 it's not as bad as you first think and it opens up the use of other talents to improve the build. Yes talents are unique now but that's only half the story, most talents all got buffed, for example Explosive damage talent is now 40% and seekers also received an overall 20% damage buff so that's 3 explosive damage talents slots right there pre tu6 so you can now utilise 2 more talents to buff your skills Payload, Calculated, Skilled, Tech Support etc. And with targeted loot it doesn't take long to farm for the new pieces at all, or if you've got the materials craft the piece to finish your build.

A current top tier skill build is 4 Hard Wire (it got reworked) China mask for the explosive damage and Alps backpack. With hard wire getting a kill with 1 skill resets the cooldown of the other skill, so basically skills are on zero second cooldowns, 9 cluster seekers at 650k damage a pop base before any talent/weapon buffs and while they're doing their thing I've got a striker drone out focusing on an enemy which is usually dead by the time the seekers have exploded and they're then back up to throw out again.

You don't need skill haste on this build with the Hard Wire bonuses so you can spec into armour for more survivability or weapon damage if you need it. I went for survivability and sitting at 340k armour on a 3.2k skill power build, there's even excess skill power I can change there for weapon damage or health.

Can you post a build guide link by any chance? Now seems like a good time for me to dip my toes into a Skill Build too (my current fave build is the AR + Merciless + Spark + Composure (and the other weapon damage talents like Devastating, Hard Hitting, Berserk, Concussion, but it's as far away from what you have as I can imagine).

Sure thing,

Make sure to keep explosive damage mods that are 3+ percent as nearly every piece has utility slots for them as you won't need the skill power mods any more that have the slight SP increase. Its easy to get SP on the gear itself.

And just to put into perspective how quick you can get gear to what you need, I made this skill build afew days with stash stuff pre tu6 I'd saved. I liked it that much today I made it for an alt that started with no items for the build. Crafted the mask, farmed Hard Wire but crafted the chest piece for a better SP roll and got a half decent Alps backpack. Threw it all together and before recalibration or Explosive mods the seekers were at 400k damage. Farmed mods and tried my luck at crafting and was at 550k seeker build in acouple of hours if that. Plenty of room for improvement but plenty of damage output to be pulling my weight in heroics.

The novelty will probably wear off but right now it's so satisfying watching everything explode and for your seekers to pop right back up and be available again whether it's from your second skill getting a kill or Skilled procing.

Thanks for the build guide - I forgot about Nothingbutskillz, hah! I'll see how close I am to building it tomorrow morning. It's nice to have a few different play styles to work with now.

And yeah, the builds come together pretty fast now. I went from 0 pieces to a full build on this in like 3 days. Like you, still room to improve (the backpack is trash, I can get "Perfect Berserk" and the Kneepads should have Health instead of Armor), but Level 4 Control points, Discovery Mode Raid, Heroic missions etc. are pretty easy with the amount of DPS it has.

Out of everything I'm still after a decent fenris Beserk chest piece, I have around 30 but they're all missing 1 key element or I want something better on the attributes. I don't even mind it not being the Perfect roll, I just want beserk and vital as the talent rolls so I can tweak the attributes, everything feels a waste now if the talents aren't right first and foremost lol

Like the build on div builder, with Spark would you say the merciless holstered talent procs it frequently for that extra weapon damage?
Yes, totally. Everytime I look down to see if it's up, it's up. The first time it came up when using the new build I actually had to go into the menu to see what the Talent was, since it was a new symbol for me and it was nearly constant.

The 5% on the Merciless may seem low, but when you're going through 50 bullets in seconds with an Allegro P416 (or others use a Ranger/Extra Famas), it comes up really, really frequently. If Spark's duration was something like 5 seconds, I'd say it probably wouldn't be worth it over other damage talents, but at 15 seconds, it's more than enough time to proc, decimate a few enemies and move on. And on bosses/heavies/shields etc. it's pretty much a guarantee to proc.

Where it ranks versus other min/maxed builds, I don't know, but it seems far stronger than the AR headshot build I had going with nearly maxed out rolls that I was farming for months.

Yeah, I have so many Fenris chests stashed from pre-TU6, all kinds of combos of Berserk, Unstoppable Force, Hardened, Hard Hitting, Vital, etc. but the number of attributes, talents and mod slots makes it exceedingly hard to find that perfect one for a given build. Even the build I'd been farming for months has a wasted attribute (Crit chance instead of Armor % or Health). It's the one part of the game that makes me wish you could re-calibrate a talent and an attribute. So many near perfect pieces already...

Awesome thats great to know. Once I get my Beserk chest piece I'll get a build together as I have perfect concussion, spark and composure talents ready to go with some ludicrous health rolls I've got stashed away!

The State Of The Game mostly talked about the balancing. I like where the game is at, from what I've played...

The explosion damage, in theory, works well for me - the suicide rushers, bombers, explosive drones, etc. SHOULD do a lot of damage. My only problem is that with server lag and surprise spawns it can occasionally be frustrating, and Heroic missions with the explosive drones can sometimes feel like a chore with how frequent and punishing they come out. But I guess that once I adjust, it'll be like having to kill the Medics in Legendary missions first in the first game.

Speaking as a new player who's still going through the story, all I want right now is a bugfix patch to fix the "Dark Zone perks available at base of operations" message not going away unless you log out and back in. Super annoying.

Just loaded back in on pc after a few months away and the game crashes every few mins....
Guess I'm checking out the new content on the PS4 instead. Was hoping to see if the Era clan are still active because on PS the Clan have moved on.

Just chiming in to say, I started farming this yesterday and already have a build doing 500k+ with each seeker (8 at the moment). That's missing the China Light 10% bonus, and I only have one Explosive Damage mod (5%)...so it's missing out on 30-35% depending on the quality of the mods I slot in. Wowzers.

Nice :) 1 of my favorite missions to use it on is DUA stronghold. So many enemy spawn points from doors just get absolutely destroyed, Skilled procced 4 times on the bounce within 7 seconds the encounter was clear lol

Yeah, it seems really nuts. I'm up to 560k on each mine (8 so far), and that's with having only one yellow slot actively adding explosives damage - looks like I could get that damage up by another 20-30% depending how the stuff scales. It seems like it's easy mode for all but tanks and dogs, but the turret does an okay job against those as long as you don't let the tank rush it...

These apparel events have dropped the ball. Especially that tacky summer one. I was really hoping they would add outfits separate of events. Its ridiculous how much power at least looking good has an effect on me returning to the game. I would pay them money directly too.

It wasn't until Red Dead online finally added some non hobo clothes and stylings that I became addicted.

Just a mornin' note to say how much I'm enjoying the update. While I was disappointed about the lack of significant new content, I find that having a new Specialization, new builds to farm for, and having open world activities and control point farms to be fruitful has really kept my interest up.

I've mostly been swapping between the Spark/Merciless/Composure-focused DPS build and the Hard Wired seeker build, I've also been busy farming some others.

GazzaGSi can't say enough how thankful I am for that build guide. It's making heroic missions hilariously quick and has been a total change to my usual playstyle. I'm mostly Skill mods and Gear mods away from what feels like a pretty close to min-maxed build now...

No problem, DB isn't loading atm so I'll keep refreshing it to have a browse over. It's still my go to build for heroics, been having a blast (literally) with it! First time running invaded manning zoo today as well as I missed it last time it was the invaded stronghold and its such a change of pace compared to running it against the outcasts, I really enjoyed it and there's afew new systems in it for a mission with the enemy emp pulses etc, worth checking out for anyone who hasn't yet.

The perfected talents are also worth the grind as well, they don't seem too much of a grind where it boring but also don't drop with every other item, the balance seems good for them.

I'm looking forward to putting my next build together, I've got some top tier stats to recal to other pieces but just holding off until everything is set in stone where I don't regret burning a piece wishing I hadn't!

I'm yet to fully try out the new specialist, I've completed it with the spec points but haven't tried the new hive etc yet. I hear it's good for putting bleed on enemies that works well for Sadist?

Yeah, I ran Heroic Manning Zoo this morning too (turns out Heroic missions are really quick when 3-4 players are running skill builds, hah). It was fun. I wasn't expecting those pulses to be so deadly, so there was a learning curve there, but agreed - it was a really fun mission.

It seems like, for the previous 3-4 months, I'd be lucky to find one great piece of gear a week to hold for later. These days, I'm clearing my inventory down to 60-ish pieces and within a few days am having to do it again. So many pieces with ridiculously high rolls, so many perfect guns/gear pieces, etc.

The next build I work on is probably going to either be:
- Raid focused (haven't played it since the update, unsure what is strong now - if my Composure/Spark DPS build can survive, etc.) or;
- That Negotiator's Dillemma Clutch build that's been going around: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/doo3vw/berserkclutch_negotiators_dilemma_i_love_it/
- PVP focused. I've got the beginnings of a Diamondback build (the PVP talent works differently, so pretty sure it'll be a one shot build)...but at the same time, I really never play PVP, so...

Damn you guys weren't kidding about Spark and Merciless.
Yeah. And with the opening up of builds you can get some pretty ridiculous damage numbers. This is the build I have going (trying to get a better health roll on the backpack and an extra 10% DTE on the mask):
So can Merciless drop from targeted loot or it's an exclusive drop from Hyena bosses?
Reddit says you can get it from targeted loot. I feel like I’ve personally seen hundreds of named items but only two exotics drop since TU6, but I’ve also been focused on Airaldi, Gear Set and Fenris targeted loot mostly, not things like weapons, masks etc.

PSA White House vendor has an amazing mod for sale (stock up!). 1.5% weapon dmg, 4% AR dmg. Really adds up on DPS builds if you’ve got more than a couple of red mod slots.

These stack right? I got a chest piece with three offensive slots that would love that
Yeah. And 5.5% weapon damage for AR builds per mod can get out of hand quickly. My Spark/Merciless AR build has 26.5k Primary Weapon Damage on a P416. That's not including all of the bonuses that come from Spark, Hard Hitting, Composure, Concussion, etc. It's pretty nuts.

Fixes coming November 13th. Bolded the most asked about ones.

Maintenance notes:
  • Fixed an issue that caused flares to be stuck and clip with agents bodies after the Signal Flare emote animation was interrupted.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Dark Zone perks available at Base of Operations" notification would display despite having no new perks.
  • Fixed an issue that caused character's faces to become distorted after cut scenes.
  • Fixed an issue where the social menu did not function when accessed in a downed state in a pre-made group.
  • Fixed an issue players were unable to share Gear Mods.
  • Fixed an issue where the players that purchased Year 1 Pass were unable to activate the Technician specialization on any world tier.
  • Fixed an issue where the donation tabs from any projects that require gear items did not show the correct equipment.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause crashes when engaging enemy NPCs in coop challenging difficulty at Lincoln Memorial.

I know they never mentioned it in any pre-release material, so expectations for a return of Survival or Underground should've been tempered.

But, this pretty much re-confirms that Julian Gerighty and co. are clowns when it comes to expanding Div 2's game modes for end-game replayability and longevity.

Their marketing centrepiece: Raids, clearly aren't good enough for replay value, while the upcoming True Sons' foundry one has been delayed. The Expeditions so far have been a total insult for everyone that's had to suffer through these uninspiring sequences just to acquire the Diamondback.

Yeah, this sucks. Survival and Last Stand were the best modes for end-end game for me, due to the replayability and way the changed up the focus of the game. One made you have to build up your character on the fly from scratch each time, with very real danger the game didn't have for months, and the other was a PVP mode where there were large maps, different objectives and the ability to play different roles to score points.

Instead we got Raids (to be fair, I think the first one was pretty cool, and if they launched every 2 months, each emphasizing a different mechanic or three, I'd be more excited), Expeditions (no replay value, really just short missions), and the PVP modes which are unbalanced, small map affairs that...well...just aren't fun. It's pretty disappointing to hear this.

If Div 2 launched like it did (it was stable, had excellent missions, value and the core gameplay loop ruled), and followed a simple path of adding updates to Survival (ideally a mode you could trigger for the LZ), Underground (more fun modifiers and mechanics) and Last Stand, it'd be an incredible game right now. But I guess there's also big differences between a year of free DLC and one of paid? Or who knows, maybe the stats for engagement on those modes just wasn't as good as the diehards think.

PS: still holding onto my 89% Poison Resistance gear piece in the hopes that a Raid or new build makes it even the least bit relevant outside of what...1 mission, which is easy to avoid anyway?

Personally, I'd prefer they come up with new modes rather than just revitalizing old modes only to go obscure

Underground was cool and all, but it got tiring over time. And Survival, while amazing, didn't have the playerbase either

Every attempt at this raid on discovery leads to abject failure and constant quits. Its incredibly frustrating and I question their decision making. Its absolutely shit design to try and retroactively make an easy/casual mode without fucking up the standard difficulty because you built fights around obtuseness. 8 randos without mics some of which can barely down yellows in under 2 clips just can't do it without the game telling them what to do or for it to be somewhat carryable. Sigh.

Spent hours building and awesome build and can't use it where u want to most. Do people still Sherpa on Xbox?
