The Giantbomb dudes said ita difficult. Too difficult for a solo player like me?

it isn´t. only thing really difficult is 4 player missions on challenging difficulty because the scaling is off. better do them with another player instead of 4 people.

and Dark Zone solo because the scaling is also off there. bounties are also a problem solo.

the game itself is no problem solo, take the reviver hive with you, essentially it is a second life.

If you zoom in on the map, you can see the resource nodes where you can harvest the stuff the friendly Control Points need. The colour indicates which faction controls that node - red means the enemies will go there to collect, green means the CP will send out patrols there. The nodes can be depleted so it pays to intercept enemy harvesters when you see them.

Some random loot is just a trinket that can be converted into money at the vendors. However, occasionally you meet a random friendly who requires such a trinket and gives you a good reward if you happen to have it on you.

Thank you! So can I actually loot anything at these resource nodes? I went to one that showed green on the mao but there was nothing there for me to loot.

I'm trying to figure out how to gather resources for one of the liberation project missions.

This game is so good. Just finished the second stronghold with a crew of randoms via matchmaking - who are no longer randoms because we enjoyed each other's company and became friends. Every loot shooter needs this level of gregarious gaming, meeting so many cool people and filling my friends list. It's making me really second guess ever returning to Destiny.

I am like 50% yellow gear sliding into level 30. I feel bugged. But I'm not complaining :)

I find the different views on difficulty very interesting. When I read some of them saying that solo play isn't that hard, I feel like I must be playing a different game.

I died over 10 times in the MLK library side mission, at the final "clear the library stage"

The boss lobs Molotov's so you can't turtle. He spawns at the same time as snipers so it's difficult to move cover to cover.

If you die a few times the game ramps down the difficulty...but it means the boss spawns alongside some mobs and actually makes it harder. When the boss pushes you, and you e got enemies flanking, you literally have no options. Move and die or stay still and die.

I've also had the boss just move right up next to me from full health, which is impossible to deal with as I can't take him out in time. Again if I try to reposition he'll wipe me.

I think it must be health...I've got two armour packs by default, which basically allows you to reposition twice, maybe 3 times in total.

Anyway, I know the answer is "hit gut" but I don't understand how so many people are waltzing to level 20 with barely any deaths.

Yes, you can loot them just fine but you may have come across a node that was depleted before you got there. They'll re-appear somewhere else after a while (not sure what the time interval is.)

The resource harvesting is really something the game should explain because it's one more of the interesting emergent behaviours of the faction system. Also, if you're not aware of this, it's hell to collect enough resources.

You're at the sweet end of the internet :) the vast majority of people who are in your matchmaking pool will have experience of teamwork, Comms, and most importantly, how to fit in with a team of randoms, be polite etc.

Enjoy it! :)

In a few weeks plebs like me will be there too and you'll have someone spinning in circles while they shout at their wife, noisllily vape, shout at the barking dog and then shout at their crying kids....

I feel depressed and sad now...

All I saw was Gray > Green > Blue > Purple > Orange.

What are the other called ingame?

Purple>High End>Exotic/GearSet

Exotic and Gear sets are around the same tier but Gear sets obviously give you better bonuses if you equip multiple pieces. Current Exotics found in the game are the Lullaby shotgun, Liberty Desert Eagle along with a couple others. I believe there are no High End Gear sets in the game yet. This is a picture of what they look like in The Division 1 and I believe the official name is Classified set. Equipping a full one would obviously give you much better stats then wearing Exotic pieces. With that said some Exotic pieces are must haves like the NinjaBike Bag in Division 1 which counted as a set item for any gear set no matter what the set or even if you had multiple sets equipped.

The crashes are getting annoying, what's with looter shooters and crashes.

it ruins the team play aspect of the game, nearly every group has crashing issues by now.

what i don´t get, when they suspect the drone is the culprit...just disable it via a hotfix to see if it is better then? why let the game crash further? take server down, issue hotfix to disable the skill, ask for player feedback and it would be faster than trying to patch it.

Read this it's worth it! You might have missed a couple of things

https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivisio...ubreddit/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

QUALITY OF LIFE
- You can donate items from the map in the projects tab: You can open your map, go to the tab called projects, click any project and you can donate items from anywhere! Hold onto old gear and check to see if different projects need those items before selling or dismantling. You can also donate right from your stash, no need to carry everything around with you, just dump everything into stash after each mission!

- /quit in chat will exit the game without having to log out first! Also -- /leave will leave the group!

- You can change your inventory style to a grid: Push X on PC to access options, it's L3 for PS4 & Xbox (short example of what the grid looks like)

- How to Accept Requests for Backup - Hold down the button that would be used to open the map, once the map is open look for an exclamation mark with lines coming off of it and hover your cursor over it, then hold the button that you would use to accept an invite for matchmaking!

- Upgrade Crafting Benches: Upgrade crafting benches when you can, all materials are capped and it's way easier to just upgrade your bench when you can rather than dump all your mats into upgrading and not having enough to craft stuff you want. How to upgrade: When you first interact with the crafting table (before you select any pieces you want to craft) one of the options is to upgrade it (there may be level requirements to this).

- Don't skip found footage videos: They can be found in the Progression tab and provide interesting pieces of information on factions and story.

- Activate Ubisoft Challenges through the Ubisoft Club:completing these earns points that can be used to buy cosmetics and other helpful resources. FAQ Link

COMBAT
- Helpful Weapon Talent Info Graphic Guide (save to your Google Drive so you don't lose it!), Weapon Talents in text form (which may have more than the first link)

- The weapon talent that increases magazine size by 20% ("Extra"?) is factored in AFTER magazine mods: An AR with 30 rounds normal that has the talent will now have 36 rounds. Adding the magazine mod that increases the rounds by 30 doesn't give you a total of 66, it gives a total of 71 [(30 base + 30 extra) *1.2 talent]

- You can take your healing drone or seeker mine back:Double-tap your ability hotkey (Q or E) and the drone will come back to heal you or the seeker mine will come back to you ( you can repeatedly use it to scare off rushers and/or flush enemies out of cover. As /u/thrwawy_laterdaterexplained, it's like a tiny attack dog.)

- Fixer drone can heal turrets (and anything else with armor): Target it like an ally.

- Corner to Corner arrow speed: You can change corner arrow-movement speed from slow to fast under gameplay settings

- Deconstructing turrets: before duration expires cuts cool down in half ( 2 minutes -> 1 minute base on assault turret )

- All shields repair when stashed or out of combat: Stash it before it dies and it will never go on cool down ( this probably applies with all shields ). All shields repair themselves when stashed or taken out of combat.

- If you are primarily solo: Hive Reviver acts as a self rez on death

- If you kill an enemy engineer before you kill their active turret the turrent will turn on his teammates.

- All skills have all their controls listed once you've unlocked them: It's worth spending time reading it, as they all function slightly differently.

- VERY IMPORTANT (CONSOLE) - aim assist is very strong when first ADSing: Get into cover, put cross hair (not in ADS) over the general area of target (say chest) and then ADS while firing - cross hairs will snap to head, repeat cycle for constant head shots, particularly with single shot rifles. This is a carry over from d1. Getting the hang of this will dramatically improve your success in PVE.

LOOT
- Respawn Rates: Weapon and Armor crates have a 24hour respawn time, Big yellow crate in Control points will respawn each time you capture a control point yourself in World Tier 4, Keyboxes have a 24hour respawn time, Misc. lootables seem to be on a 4 hours respawn timer, not 100% about Misc, lootables but they seem to have a 4 hour respawn.

- Maximum obtainable gear score is tied to your current items, \including* stash. Keep high score items for better loot!:* GearScore for loot drops is based on your max attainable own GearScore from all items owned, including your stash. Just hold on to items with higher GearScore, you don't need to equip them to still get better drops. To elaborate, "max possible" is the highest ilvl item you have NOT average ilvl of all items. So for instance, if your highest ilvl gun is shit - throw it in your stash and the item still counts as your max ilvl piece of gear (even though you aren't using it). You can have all the low ilvl gear you want in your stash, but the ilvl mechanic only counts towards your highest ilvl gear.

- Donating supplies gives you the ability to see lootable objects from further away: Donate supplies to one of your settlements before going sewer looting. It will temporarily highlight loot near you, making it easier to see and less likely to miss a cache key.

- Loot Control Points after a bit of time has passed: If you go back to a captured control point after a certain time, the supplies and crates in the supply room are obtainable again except the big chest. No exact time has been confirmed but it does happen from time to time. Helps with getting some free loot! Note: if you go into the map and select a control point, in the info it includes a timer counting down till the supply room loot fills up again. (Might only be during end game).

- Don't overlook DZ & Control Points in your search for loot

- Regarding DZ loot: Even if you hate PvP, but want a nice spike in gear: Go to the Dark Zones. You don't have to hunt other people. Heck, you don't even have to deal with calling for choppers, extracting gear, watching nervously, then get shot by rogues. Just Landmark hop from point to point and clear them out. Enemies there drop loot that you do not have to extract. And they drop nice, NICE pieces of gear. Hit the landmarks up a few times and you'll have no worries of falling behind with gear while leveling.

- You can find unmarked SHD tech in underground tunnels & loot sewers regularly: Key boxes in the sewers respawn, come back for more faction keys! Sewers are by far the fastest way to farm Rare Crafting resources like Carbonfiber, Titanium and Electornics due to how many different boxes there are in them.

- There is loot in everywhere!

  1. You can shoot locks on gates / doors
  2. In main story missions there are loot spawns that are easy to miss
  3. Side missions often unlock a room with loot (aka. Control Points)
  4. Sometimes you can see into a room with a weapon case / loot but there's no obvious way in...there IS a way in... there is always a way in (bugs not withstanding). Side note: Follow the red cord to a yellow box and shoot it. Your crosshairs should be red when you aim at the thing that opens the area.
  5. Don't forget to search for faction keys and key boxes/cabinets on the walls. They look like a fuse box of sorts or a cabinet you would see near a valet office. Faction keys open faction loot boxes.
- Cosmetics are shared across all of your characters:Make new agents to get a few more cosmetic unlocks!

- Claiming armbands: You've likely unlocked lots of arm badges if you haven't checked the Progression section of your menu. Open up Progression, go to the next tab and you'll see a list of all the challenges you've completed. You have to manually claim the rewards for each challenge. You can see a list of unclaimed challenges on that screen.

- Figuring out what you have collected: The supply areas, water - tools etc, turn from white to green on the map and minimap when you have collected everything in that area.

- Supply boxes in trees: Orange supply boxes that are stuck in trees, on buildings and other high objects always drops a Dye for your Gear. Faction lockboxes always drops Gear mods.

- Do Bounties! They give great rewards, exp, credits and best of all skill points for your specialistaion.

- Commendations: Under Progression there is a Commendations tab, claiming the rewards there unlock Emblems and at certain points Commendation Caches that give the same loot as a Field Proficiency Cache.

Gotcha, thanks so much for the helpful info, appreciate it.

Still early in the game so I haven;t run into anything too grindy yet, just trying to understand the mechanics.

lol, from the patch notes thread on reddit:

World Tier 5
We don't have a confirmed date when World Tier 5 gets activated.

nice one....essentially no real reason to play at 450 gearscore other than doing DZ ranks or PVP ranks

patch notes read like there won´t be a fast fix for the crashes.
https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/b1hq62/upcoming_patch_notes/

To be fair most people won't consume the game quite like you did. I've been playing 5-6 hours a day since early release which is pushing it and I just got through maybe the first half of tier 1 with friends. I don't think game development cycles around people being literally at the endgame on day 2 of launch and it's a bit unrealistic to expect them to cater to that very small minority.

The story missions are the primary reason why some people want to play this game. They were the only form of content I enjoyed in the first game.

You can't just replace one form of content with another. Side missions and endgame content are side missions and endgame content.

The game can still be good if those other forms of content are good. But even if this ends up being the greatest game of all time, locking a slightly harder than trivial version of a game's main fucking missions behind a trivial version will never not be an absolutely fucking massive deal to the people looking forward to it.

It's not like this is some Ninja Gaiden deal where normal difficulty would effectively be necessary for almost every player anyway.

Sure, but these people will be underleveled for the story missions anyway, if they don't do any other content, and will have much harder time even on the default difficulty.
So the "problem" solves itself. The whining still makes zero sense.

Getting a lot of audio bugs on PS4pro - especially during rain and thunderstorms. No rain noises, no music, only footsteps and thunder. Feels super bizarre.

Even after a reboot I feel the game is super, SUPER silent. There's so little ambient noise, even compared to the first game.

Rain during nighttime looks terrible, by the way. So far the game's weather and setting got nothing on D1 - NY covered in snow's atmosphere was a million times better. It also made if feel like the snow was an enemy as well and made it feel extra nice and comfy to be in a safe house. In this game? Nothing. Hell the first safe house you unlock is completely abandoned.

There's something about the atmosphere in this game that is ten steps back compared to the first game.

You HAVE to be kidding me, worst freaking luck.

I literally just finished a tough as hell mission and the last guy of the mission dropped a PURPLE item.

I was about 3 seconds from reaching it and got disconnected and see the servers are down for maintenance.

When I login later I'm not going to be able to get that item am I? It'll just spawn me back in a safehouse and I'll probably have to do that mission all over :(.

Was I blind or did they not say anything about this maintenance? Yesterday there was a message stating servers would be going down like an hour before it happened but I didn't see that at all for this one.

The only warning was a 30 minute countdown for me. Bottom left of the screen.

How do I donate resources to control points? And how do I farm them?
Speak to the NPC highlighted as the CP leader.

You find them in containers, backpacks, bins, etc... just loot everything you see. Or look on the map for nodes - white circles with the CP material symbols inside. Nodes are areas that have a bunch of containers with that nodes material in them. A node marked wit ha water symbol, for instance, will have a dozen or so drums with water in them.
