Picked this up from the PSN sale after the free weekend sold me (got 12 hours out of it before buying). Really enjoying it at the moment. Bit concerned about how I'll like the endgame, but I've got a long ways to go before that, so I'm just gonna enjoy the ride for now.
(Really hope we get something like Underground eventually. That's the part of Div 1 that always sounded the most interesting to me, but I never ended up playing it.)

Well I guess my explosive build is now useless. That's a major bummerthe game no longer lets you 'stack' talents (aka 4 x pieces with Hard Hitting).

I was initially pissed with this but having played a good few hours with tu6 it's not as bad as you first think and it opens up the use of other talents to improve the build. Yes talents are unique now but that's only half the story, most talents all got buffed, for example Explosive damage talent is now 40% and seekers also received an overall 20% damage buff so that's 3 explosive damage talents slots right there pre tu6 so you can now utilise 2 more talents to buff your skills Payload, Calculated, Skilled, Tech Support etc. And with targeted loot it doesn't take long to farm for the new pieces at all, or if you've got the materials craft the piece to finish your build.Well I guess my explosive build is now useless. Now seems like a good time for me to dip my toes into a Skill Build too (my current fave build is the AR + Merciless + Spark + Composure (and the other weapon damage talents like Devastating, Hard Hitting, Berserk, Concussion, but it's as far away from what you have as I can imagine).A current top tier skill build is 4 Hard Wire (it got reworked) China mask for the explosive damage and Alps backpack. With hard wire getting a kill with 1 skill resets the cooldown of the other skill, so basically skills are on zero second cooldowns, 9 cluster seekers at 650k damage a pop base before any talent/weapon buffs and while they're doing their thing I've got a striker drone out focusing on an enemy which is usually dead by the time the seekers have exploded and they're then back up to throw out again.

Thanks for the build guide - I forgot about Nothingbutskillz, hah! I'll see how close I am to building it tomorrow morning. It's nice to have a few different play styles to work with now.And just to put into perspective how quick you can get gear to what you need, I made this skill build afew days with stash stuff pre tu6 I'd saved. I liked it that much today I made it for an alt that started with no items for the build. Crafted the mask, farmed Hard Wire but crafted the chest piece for a better SP roll and got a half decent Alps backpack. Threw it all together and before recalibration or Explosive mods the seekers were at 400k damage. Farmed mods and tried my luck at crafting and was at 550k seeker build in acouple of hours if that. Plenty of room for improvement but plenty of damage output to be pulling my weight in heroics.
The novelty will probably wear off but right now it's so satisfying watching everything explode and for your seekers to pop right back up and be available again whether it's from your second skill getting a kill or Skilled procing.

And yeah, the builds come together pretty fast now. I went from 0 pieces to a full build on this in like 3 days. Like you, still room to improve (the backpack is trash, I can get "Perfect Berserk" and the Kneepads should have Health instead of Armor), but Level 4 Control points, Discovery Mode Raid, Heroic missions etc. are pretty easy with the amount of DPS it has.
Yes, totally. Everytime I look down to see if it's up, it's up. The first time it came up when using the new build I actually had to go into the menu to see what the Talent was, since it was a new symbol for me and it was nearly constant.Like the build on div builder, with Spark would you say the merciless holstered talent procs it frequently for that extra weapon damage?
Yeah, I have so many Fenris chests stashed from pre-TU6, all kinds of combos of Berserk, Unstoppable Force, Hardened, Hard Hitting, Vital, etc. but the number of attributes, talents and mod slots makes it exceedingly hard to find that perfect one for a given build. Even the build I'd been farming for months has a wasted attribute (Crit chance instead of Armor % or Health). It's the one part of the game that makes me wish you could re-calibrate a talent and an attribute. So many near perfect pieces already...Out of everything I'm still after a decent fenris Beserk chest piece, I have around 30 but they're all missing 1 key element or I want something better on the attributes. I don't even mind it not being the Perfect roll, I just want beserk and vital as the talent rolls so I can tweak the attributes, everything feels a waste now if the talents aren't right first and foremost lol

That's missing the China Light 10% bonus, and I only have one Explosive Damage mod (5%)...so it's missing out on 30-35% depending on the quality of the mods I slot in. Yeah, it seems really nuts. I'm up to 560k on each mine (8 so far), and that's with having only one yellow slot actively adding explosives damage - looks like I could get that damage up by another 20-30% depending how the stuff scales. It seems like it's easy mode for all but tanks and dogs, but the turret does an okay job against those as long as you don't let the tank rush it...Nice :) 1 of my favorite missions to use it on is DUA stronghold. So many enemy spawn points from doors just get absolutely destroyed, Skilled procced 4 times on the bounce within 7 seconds the encounter was clear lol

Just a mornin' note to say how much I'm enjoying the update. While I was disappointed about the lack of significant new content, I find that having a new Specialization, new builds to farm for, and having open world activities and control point farms to be fruitful has really kept my interest up.
I've mostly been swapping between the Spark/Merciless/Composure-focused DPS build and the Hard Wired seeker build, I've also been busy farming some others.
GazzaGSi can't say enough how thankful I am for that build guide. It's making heroic missions hilariously quick and has been a total change to my usual playstyle. I'm mostly Skill mods and Gear mods away from what feels like a pretty close to min-maxed build now...
Yeah, I ran Heroic Manning Zoo this morning too (turns out Heroic missions are really quick when 3-4 players are running skill builds, hah). It was fun. I wasn't expecting those pulses to be so deadly, so there was a learning curve there, but agreed - it was a really fun mission.No problem, DB isn't loading atm so I'll keep refreshing it to have a browse over. It's still my go to build for heroics, been having a blast (literally) with it! First time running invaded manning zoo today as well as I missed it last time it was the invaded stronghold and its such a change of pace compared to running it against the outcasts, I really enjoyed it and there's afew new systems in it for a mission with the enemy emp pulses etc, worth checking out for anyone who hasn't yet.
The perfected talents are also worth the grind as well, they don't seem too much of a grind where it boring but also don't drop with every other item, the balance seems good for them.
I'm looking forward to putting my next build together, I've got some top tier stats to recal to other pieces but just holding off until everything is set in stone where I don't regret burning a piece wishing I hadn't!
I'm yet to fully try out the new specialist, I've completed it with the spec points but haven't tried the new hive etc yet. I hear it's good for putting bleed on enemies that works well for Sadist?
Yeah. And with the opening up of builds you can get some pretty ridiculous damage numbers. This is the build I have going (trying to get a better health roll on the backpack and an extra 10% DTE on the mask):
Reddit says you can get it from targeted loot. I feel like I've personally seen hundreds of named items but only two exotics drop since TU6, but I've also been focused on Airaldi, Gear Set and Fenris targeted loot mostly, not things like weapons, masks etc.So can Merciless drop from targeted loot or it's an exclusive drop from Hyena bosses?

Yeah. And 5.5% weapon damage for AR builds per mod can get out of hand quickly. My Spark/Merciless AR build has 26.5k Primary Weapon Damage on a P416. I know they never mentioned it in any pre-release material, so expectations for a return of Survival or Underground should've been tempered.
But, this pretty much re-confirms that Julian Gerighty and co. are clowns when it comes to expanding Div 2's game modes for end-game replayability and longevity.
Their marketing centrepiece: Raids, clearly aren't good enough for replay value, while the upcoming True Sons' foundry one has been delayed. The Expeditions so far have been a total insult for everyone that's had to suffer through these uninspiring sequences just to acquire the Diamondback.
