Oh! Lol that makes the Borderlands censoring all the more baffling and laughable then.Funny thing they didn't censor the middle finger here. But did it in the Borderlands. Like, what.
I mean with that protagonist. The appeal is for the edgy crowd. It’s quite clear. Here i thought the game would be different.I still don't get the point of throwing in "cock sucker". It's homophobic and misyognstic and I really don't want to hear casual unnecessary slurs like that when I'm trying to enjoy a game (or game trailer).
I thought exactly the same.Anyone else found that extremely stupid? It was hilarious how they censored words like "fuck" yet in the next scene there was graphic murder scenes lmao.
despite the fact that America has the biggest porn industry in the world. it is really hilarious.
All on Microsoft for that one. Also putting a black box over a middle finger in the Borderlands 3 vid. Had to laugh at that.
Borderlands censorship apparently came from Gearbox, not MS. The trailer on their youtube channel has the same black barFunny thing they didn't censor the middle finger here. But did it in the Borderlands. Like, what.
Yea the black box fits with Borderlands' self-aware punk aesthetic.
How is this a hot take lol. Censoring swear words but not the violence is dumb.
The first video from a while back had a female player character and it about as bad as you're probably thinking.I think it will be awful. Remember they said it will change if you are male or female. I think playing as a female will be unbearable.
I'm pretty sensitive to homophobic slurs but the idea of characters who are violent criminals and killers being expected to use polite, inoffensive language is absurd. It's all in the context, and in the context of Cyberpunk's world it's honestly fine. It's designed to run the line of punk spirited bad taste.I still don't get the point of throwing in "cock sucker". It's homophobic and misyognstic and I really don't want to hear casual unnecessary slurs like that when I'm trying to enjoy a game (or game trailer).
How did you not notice? It happened like 5x in the trailer...I didn't even notice that. Are we just nitpicking on random stuff?
Yeah, it was a joke.
Anyone else found that extremely stupid? It was hilarious how they censored words like "fuck" yet in the next scene there was graphic murder scenes lmao.
What was the point?
For those that didnt see it:
Especially in a game that's set so far in the future where you could reasonably assume that people might have come up with some new (possibly less homophobic) insults.I still don't get the point of throwing in "cock sucker". It's homophobic and misyognstic and I really don't want to hear casual unnecessary slurs like that when I'm trying to enjoy a game (or game trailer).
I know, that's why I am concerned. Don't forget the ass exposition which clearly indicate that the female is for "men who choose to play female to have a waifu".The first video from a while back had a female player character and it about as bad as you're probably thinking.
Yep, good to take notes on who specifically is equating violence with objectification though. You know, for the future.Wow, quickly became a US bash fest. Anyways ..it was pretty funny to watch.
There's all sorts of concessions made to every aspect of a game to make it more enjoyable—you don't have to spend weeks in game to walk after getting shot in the leg. It's the same with language.I'm pretty sensitive to homophobic slurs but the idea of characters who are violent criminals and killers being expected to use polite, inoffensive language is absurd. It's all in the context, and in the context of Cyberpunk's world it's honestly fine. It's designed to run the line of punk spirited bad taste.
If the game overall has an aggressively homophobic tone then sure, but given they've already been open about gay options then this really isn't a big deal.
... what?It is a dark, gritty game rated M for Mature audiences, there will be lots more than that and I assume you're not a child..so what's the prob OP?
Maybe because is "An event for all audiences"Anyone else found that extremely stupid? It was hilarious how they censored words like "fuck" yet in the next scene there was graphic murder scenes lmao.

Don't forget that in 2077, taxi driver are still south asian...Especially in a game that's set so far in the future where you could reasonably assume that people might have come up with some new (possibly less homophobic) insults.
Agreed. Imagine if they beep every asshole character on movies, would be awful.I'm pretty sensitive to homophobic slurs but the idea of characters who are violent criminals and killers being expected to use polite, inoffensive language is absurd. Cause a lot of things censor swearing...
