Created by media entrepreneur and Cranky Kong enthusiast Geoff Keighley, what started as a baffling and highly entertaining mess of a show known as VGX featuring Joel McHale has evolved into a commendable work of passion and care that truly aims to celebrate the video game industry. With multiple world premiers, new trailers and performances, this should be a fun night with only a slight chance of crushing your hopes and dreams.

Can't wait! Geoff has created something amazing.

Any predictions on how many viewers we'll have this year? I think last year was around 11 million. Wouldn't be surprised if we have 15+ million this year, which is insane.

Surprised the thread title wasn’t Fuck the Oscars.

Can’t wait to watch tonight. Ready for some Metroid!

EDIT: Fuck, I’m an idiot and totally missed the joke in the thread title.

Looking forward to watching this trash and making fun of it online yet again in 2018.

I hope A Way Out wins so we can get more Josef Fares.

So excited. Can't believe this is turning into the new "E3".

Hoping for Red Dead to win it's rightful spot as GOTY, but I'm thinking God of War will pull it off in the end.

It’s going to be great! I’m really happy they brought back the orchestra because video game music this year has been phenomenal. Hype!!

Hollywood Reporter said:
This year's show also features a roster of A-list Hollywood talent as presenters, including Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo; Stranger Things showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer; actors Jonah Hill, Joel McHale, Christoph Waltz, Aisha Tyler, Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar — who will debut new footage from the upcoming Fox film — and even the Muppets.

PRIME fucking time
Are polls maxed out at 5 options? I'd like to add a GOTY poll.
If they are, maybe just do one between GoW and RDR2? I’ve been interested in what the result of such a poll would be

Plus those seem like the front runners for a lot of categories, and realistically, there’s a 99% chance the winner will be one of those two

With Nintendo tweeting to tune into the show, and also because they are nominated for basically nothing, I'm hoping for a big showcase from them with regards to extracurricular activities, especially with Smash launching today/tomorrow. Prime 4 trailer? Bayo 3 trailer? First Smash DLC fighter? A live performance of "Lifelight"? Would love one, adore two, and absolutely cream my pants if we got all of them.

There already was one, RDR2 won.

God of War for GOTY.
I hope so.

The world AI and underlying systems in RDR2 were superbly impressive, but the pacing and structure of the narrative took a poor turn about 3/4 through the game and I feel the story really suffered until end/epilogue.

GoW however, punched my soul. So powerful and concise, with incredible pacing. And on a technical level the HDR 4K I felt was better implemented and more graphically impressive from a texture, animation (with all the inverse kinematics with fighting system, lip sync and eyes (facial animation) etc. It just felt tighter with a huge emphasis on cinematic lighting that spilled out perfectly in every scene. GoW is 1st for me, RDR2 2nd, and prob Spider-Man my 3rd but I need to play more Monster Hunter and a few other titles to know for sure (i loved octopath and still need to finish that even).

I'm actually looking forward to Pepe the King Prawn presenting lol that's hilarious

Also, the VR nominations this year are really legit games. That space is starting to mature ... I want Astrobot to win, but if still be happy with Tetris, Moss, or Beat Saber. Haven't played firewall, so I can't speak to that

Josef Fares winning "Favorite Moment of 2017" would be amazing.

Excited for the announcements, but even more for the memes.
