Wii U at launch, Switch at launch, X1S when it was at 150 or so mostly as a Blu-ray player and media center and an X during a sale when game pass was starting to take off.

Next gen I might go Nintendo only. I don't play that much anymore and most of it is on PC anyway.

Xbox One X
Xbox One X Gears 5 Edition

Xbox One X is by far the best console, but PS4 has had so many great games.

I know none is not a choice, but this is the first time I didn't even get a single console. From whatever generation the NES was up to the PS3/xbox generation I've always had all consoles. So I completely quit from one gen to the next.

Just a base PS4 in 2015 when Batman: Arkham Knight released. I built a gaming PC in 2016, but sold that in 2017. Turned to I liked researching the parts and the building process more than actually PC gaming. Lesson learned. Very much looking forward to the PS5.

Saying the Xbox One X is the best console is subjective. Power wise yes, but everything else is down to what games you prefer or portability etc.

PS4 and Xbox One at launch. Second PS4 after the first died within 7 months. Sold my Xbox One and got a Switch.

Oh, I almost forgot to include my Wii U too, which I played more than the Switch.

One PS4 pro for my cousin and to play FF15 (mistake since the game is garbage), another Pro for myself when GoW came out. A Switch for a friend and to play XC2(even worse trash then 15, shouldn't have been made) and another Switch for myself last June.

More than I expected actually

3DS XL (Pokemon X/Y Blue LE)
3DS XL (Pink)
PS Vita
Wii U
New 3DS (Pokemon Red/Blue LE)
PS4 Slim Ver 1.

Also a SNES Classic, just for fun.

11 X Wii U (oops)
- reviving me as a lapsed gamer also turned me into a collector

01 X Switch
- running up to that cliff in BotW is how all experiences with new consoles should start

01 X N3DSXL
- gimme that SNES design, and some circulation in my hands again

01 X PS4
- my journey started with Journey, and my favourite franchise Gravity Rush is almost an apt name for the fan

01 X XBOX ONE
- the N64 Mini Classic, but Forza Horizon is its dreamy vanishing point, and Sunset Overdrive is a hoot

01 X NES Mini Classic
- paperweight mario

01 X SNES Mini Classic
- mario on the download

Being in a couple with a gamer makes me buy things twice :x

Wii U
N3DSXL (x2)
Switch (x2)

Waiting for a Switch "pro" and maybe PS5 ( a big "maybe", I don't buy a console for 1 or 2 games)

A 3ds, a 3ds XL, a Wii U, a PS4 and a Switch, so 5 consoles, with buyer remorse because of the Wii U and the PS4

I think I turned into a collector this generation:

PS4 MGSV Edition
2 x PS4 20th Anniversary Edition
3 x PS4 500 Million Edition
Nintendo Switch

Okay I voted 1 console (which is the PS4), but I actually did buy a NEW 3DS XL aswell which I thought didn't really count as console so actually I bought 2. Maybe was not the best move to buy the 3DS because the Switch came out 2 years later and it felt like they completely dropped the DS.
Atleast I can still play a huge library of old games

4 if we're not including any pure handhelds. Wii U, (OG) PS4, Switch, Xbox One X. In that order. Also a PSVR, but that's an add-on.

Handhelds I've gotten are: (OG) 3DS XL, (OG) PS Vita and New 3DS.

Eh. Depends on where you class the start and end of the generation. I mean some places class 3DS as the start of the PS4 / XBONE gen and Switch as the start of the next gen.

Anyway the consoles I have bought since the 3DS.

3DS
Wii U
Vita 1000
PS4
XBONE Launch Model (still with Kinect)
Vita TV bundle for cheap that I never used
Vita 2000
n3DS XL
PS4 Pro
Switch
Switch (first one died, well Joycon wouldn't connect when attached made Pokemon Let's Go catching mechanics suck)

I started with an Xbox One at launch. Traded it four months later for a PS4 that's been with me since then. Then I bought a Wii U and sold it a year or so later. Next I got a Switch in 2017 and sold it in 2018, only to buy another in 2019.

Also, people are talking about 3DSs here, so I might as well count my Vita. I got a Vita in 2014, sold it later in 2016 and got another one in 2017 that's been with me since.

And in the meantime I upgraded my PC twice.

I thought I was pretty clear about that the PS4 has tons of great games. But Xbox One X is definately the console that performs best, it's fast, it cuts load times etc. I wish I'd bought it earlier but I just didn't think the difference would be that noticeable.

Does it? For me the UI is terrible, and apart from a few multiplatforms here and there it doesn't really look massively better.

Anyway I'll leave it there, each to their own.

oh god

Wii U
Xbox one (sold to friend to fund next one)
Xbox one s (took advantage of gamestop promo to fund next one)
Xbox one x
PS4 slim
Switch
Switch Lite
Vita slim
3DS
3DS XL
2DS
New 2DS XL

for PC during this gen...
built an i5 3570k machine with a 7850 in 2013. eventually upgraded to a GTX 970 and that lasted me through "current gen" at 1080p
I built my "next gen" PC over the course of the past year. At the start of the gen I was in college, looking for excuses to spend money on games. Now I have a job and am constantly adding new parts to my PC as I go lmao

Bought a PS4 at the start of the generation, it got stolen from my house in 2016 with all my physical game collection and TV, so I switched to PC as I was starting from scratch. Built my own PC, and that worked out wonderfully. However, as most everything would again need to be upgraded, I'm considering just going the XSX + Gamepass to make things simple again.

PS4 at launch, then PS4 Pro at launch (sold the standard one).

Now looking for a Switch, just out of curiosity. Last Nintendo system I owned was the N64. Want to see what's up with that Marios and stuff

2 PS4s (first one was stolen)
1 PS4 Pro
1 Xbone
1 XboneX
1 Switch

PC was a RX480 to RX580 (free upgrade). I then switched to a 1070, and finally settled on a 1080ti for now.
