Them being incredibly scripted when pretending to be unscripted was funnier than a lot of times when they do it normally, amusingly.

I like the new celebrity face off segment, but I always think it runs a little too long.

Unscripted had me laughing out loud uncontrollably. First time I've laughed this hard since the episode of TG where they filmed that car chase for the Departed. Can't wait for this week's.

I don't know, I almost shit myself when they made their cars into ambulances and Jezza had an ejector lever to launch the body into the "hospital" in a handbrake 180.

The cheap car challenges and car transformations have always been my favorites, followed by the adventures then races.

That tank looks fun.
I just think that they need to start going a bit more in-depth into/about the cars (vehicles) though, it just seems to be a montage of clips/videos now, they seem to have reigned themselves in a bit this second series though, the first they seems to have gone overboard with the freedom they had now got.

Squeeking brakes are horrible though.

I got delivery of the the new TT RS in December and the brakes have been updated. I don't have JC's issue.

That Audi TT RS is so fucking sexy.

I'm very pleased :)

Lol at episode 4. "But, because this isnt a scripted episode, we didnt have much to say. What's your favorite waterfall?" It's like a direct response to resetera. Good joke, decent episode.

that nomad is awesome.

but my next car could be a TT RS

Have they done any of the traditional cheap car challenges since moving over to Amazon? I can't think of any.

The beach buggy race episode was sort of like that but not that. James did one of his own in Unscripted. It was hillariously bad.

They didn't really understand the criticism, or at least they did and redirected it. People don't have a problem with scripted places, events and whatnot. They just want to see more candid moments between the guys because that's when they are often at their funniest. I want to see something like a cheap car challenge where they relentlessly mock the design of their cars, each other, and then fall in love with them anyway in some exotic place. The most legendary top gear episodes follow that formula.

Man I absolutely loved the 5th episode, the Dubai desert stuff especially. It is now a bucket list item of mine to race around in the desert in one of those 1500bhp wheelie beasts! One can dream.

Yeah. Do we all agree that this season is really good so far? I was little worried after the first, but seems like they still got it.

Looks really nice. Can you tell me how is the ride quality, especially on non-perfect roads?

I really enjoyed the first season too, but this is a clear improvement. Very solid so far. The farmkhana segment in ep5 had me laughing the whole way.

That tank that Hammond was driving, goddamm! It is now one of my life goals to bomb around in the desert in one of those. Season's been great so far and a huge improvement on last season.

Great season so far. Its decidedly better, and without the forced joke sections it gels together and doesn't feel bloated to get to the good bits. The mall bit was perfect, its not the Power Trio show without a good bit of mall destruction!

Yes, absolutely!

These last two episodes (4 and 5) actually had me laughing out loud rather than just smiling or chuckling to myself, which is all I can recall doing in the first series. I still half heartedly roll my eyes at some of the things, but it feels like they acknowledged and understood all the stuff we - the audience - didn't like, and changed it for the better. And it works.

Bill Bailey is always a good laugh; "oh, um... just checking my blood pressure".

Although I think the Celebrity Face Off goes on for a few minutes too long, it is definitely a welcome addition. I find the guest interviews on the new series of Top Gear a little bit awkward and sterile, especially when poor old Rory is sitting at the far end of the 'sofa'.

The Dubai desert scene in 4K and HDR is mindbogglingly brilliant.

I actually look forward to watching this show these days.

Loving the season, Farmkhana was amazing and the "unscripted" skit have been my highlights so far. Annoyed that the Amazon app on my TCL is broken for HDR though, i knew I wasn't imagining that the series played in HDR before.

Lost interest in the first season very soon, thought things were never going to be the same, but this feels like proper TG.

Also, complaints about things being scripted are baffling. You just can't pull a show like this if you don't carefully plan and stage each shot.

Farmkhana was pretty great. I always day dream of tossing my car around, off and on road in a similar fashion. I'm sure it would end with similar results

Last episode was ok... Which is the best I can describe the whole show, to be honest.
They're not doing anything interesting anymore with their car reviews, and that's the most disappointing thing in it for me. And they might as well not have any footage in them.
James's film on the Up! GTI is a perfect example. He's driving around and talking, but you barely get to see the car. Old Top Gear might've gotten formulaic and hyperbolic with those, but I still appreciated them stopping a bit, take a look at different parts of each vehicle, and actually going somewhere with whatever point they're trying to make.

I have magnetic ride on the MK3 that l didn't have on the MK2 RS and the ride is much more comfortable if a little fidgety at times in conform mode. Dynamic mode is firm & very fidgety. I tend to leave the ride on conform majority of the time. Pot holes (not deep ones) are far less 'crashy' than MK2.

Season 2 has been so much better, though I prefer the celebrity piece from last year (as in they're barely in the episode).

I think I want another of those "James May goes someplace cool to do something he hates" segments and a cheap car challenge or two.

Episode 4: James firestruck getting destroyed was funny as hell and seeing that plane so low.

Episode 5: I actually enjoyed the farm rally, Car porn in the edited version and comedy on the edited version

Sounds nice. I've driven the previous TT but it was a V6 I don't know if it was RS or not but it had the double clutch automatic. Was really nice.

How is the engine and gearbox compared to that?

Sorry if this might be offtopic but I guess in a car show related forum it might be ok to talk about this =)

I second this. I think the celebrity interviews and driving was already worn out in Top Gear.

Also I think I might be the only person who liked the celeb death scenes and then the commentary from James and Richard.

I guess its needed because its a cheap to make segment and takes up time so I can understand it from production point of view. Still its the one I could live without.

For some reason this show never plays in 4K for me anymore. Season 1 was fine. On both Xbox one and Fire TV. Is this common?

I really liked the latest episode. I loved the cinematography in the tank bit, and the parody driver video was one of the funniest things I've seen from these guys in years.
