Agreed. The actual building of gunpla has progressively gone from being a very central point in the first Build Fighters to a very thin veneer in Re:Rise.
This last series never spends much time on how fun it is as a hobby or the joys of initiating someone into it.
At least Build Divers gave us this which I found both funny and accurate. :)

It's one of my favorites! I remember trying to get my first kits from a comic shop in the mid 90s confused as fuck lol

Terra Formars is one of the last things I expected to get a Gundam crossover.

EDIT:

Zeon version has the best song. But anyway, that G40 Gundam looks pretty slick in motion. Makes me regret missing out on the HG.

Honestly you can't go wrong with Sazabi kits, there isn't a bad one. Nightingale is a good re/100 too

Think my xmas gift to myself will be a pair of godhands. I've kinda fallen out of kit making, or at least enjoying it thanks to my current apartment but I want to try to finish my RG Banshee thats been sitting here half finished for 5 months and my MG Altron thats been in a box since it got re-released lol.

Yeah I think I've decided I'm getting the RG Sazabi and MG Wing Zero Custom. I know the Wing Zero isn't the best kit from what I've heard but I'm a sucker for the Custom and its iconic poses. Hope I get some Christmas money to fee less guilty about it lol.

Yeah I just want another MG and Sazabi is already a pretty big RG, so I'll go with Wing Zero as my MG.

I'm going to start a UC canon rewatch soon. There are several things I've never seen, including Thunderbolt, NT, and ZZ. Does anyone have a link to (or the patience to create) a chronological listing for UC? I think it would be rad to watch in timeline order.

Isn't it kinda a stretch to consider Thunderbolt part of the UC/OYW anyway? Getting hung up on tech comparisons when it isn't officially canon seems silly (assuming I'm remembering this correctly).
I kinda want the Sazabi. Preferably the MG for the size but I hear the RG is really good.
It is a big commitment but the MG ver Ka is probably my favorite kit ever. I have the OG MG too but I wouldn't recommend it over the Ka.

Even if its not canon, Quinton might have a wtf moment. I personally don't think its canon, but still.

Japan!
Merry Christmas to all!

Here's my Christmas Story movie inspired Gundam Leg Lamp. Got a fancy new LED bulb for the lamp that lets me change it to any color, strobe and has a remote!

What kind of issues?

Along with what Holly said, it's also very difficult to get it to hold the Twin Buster Rifle, since there aren't any kind of attachment points like modern MG hands/weapons have. Just the fingers closing around the handle, so it's very prone to just falling out of the hand. The MG Wing EW/Ver. Ka also has this problem.

The MG looks great, but honestly, it's a pain in the ass.

I think I'll go with MG Wing Zero Custom. Can't be much worse than the RG 00 Quanta. I don't know if there was something wrong with my kit but that piece of shit is so goddamn fragile, especially it's head piece and swords. It's a miracle I haven't lost a piece and that I actually managed to pull off a pose with the giant sword transformation without its arm falling off due to the weight. If it's a huge pain then at least the RG Sazabi will make me feel better.

Does anyone have PG Exia or Unicorn? They're absolutely beautiful but so fucking expensive.

I've got PG Unicorn. It's an amazing kit. The LED set can be a bit of a pain but the end result is well worth it.

I have the PG Exia in my backlog but I bought a new condo and moved a few months ago right after I bought it so I haven't gotten around to it yet. To be honest, I'm kind of intimidated but I'm planning to make a go at it by the spring at least.

Freaking Era and their backlog. I'll see how I feel about getting a PG after I'm done building Sazabi and Wing Zero. I'm getting Sazabi today. It's been over a year I think since the last kit I built so I hope I'm not too rusty. I'm hoping to get this done in a day.

Well, in my case there is a valid reason for having that PG in the backlog: when I bought the kit, it was not because I wanted to build it right away but because there was a pre-owned one on sale with a 50% discount.
If a kit that I know I'll eventually want gets such a discount, I buy it when the opportunity arises, not when I'm ready to build it.
