There is no way I am going to read all of that just to find out if the Secret Service Agent accidentally shot him.

And really, what kind of coverup would get put into official documents anyways? If they were covering it up they would, you know, cover it up.

Over 6000 different documents... I clicked on one that was barely tangentially related that had to do with MLK and the majority of it was redacted.

What was Kissinger talking about witk Colby blackmailing him on the assassination stories? Or was he joking?

EDIT: THIS document sure is interesting... Bay of Pigs stuff and CIA assassination efforts against Castro.

There's even a creepy weird bounty reward list for Cuban citizens to take out the government. (Top of Page 13)

Castro was worth 2 cents.

It's crazy what the CIA was planning to do in Cuba.

https://www.archives.gov/files/research/jfk/releases/docid-32112987.pdf

They were discussing everything from sabotaging up a Copper Mine to poisoning crop fields with secret chemicals to make it look like a natural disaster. All just to create economic chaos and incite a civilian uprising. Sending agents in by submarine to infiltrate and gather intelligence.

Makes you wonder what Trump DIDN'T release today. If the CIA might still be attempting stuff like this in North Korea or elsewhere.

Yeah, I saw some of that in the other doc you linked. Sacking all the sugar cane workers in Cuba particularly struck me. Basically, "We have all these ways we could devastate Cuba, but they're kinda messed up, so lets not do it."

These Cuban files are really interesting. My grandparents were stationed at Guantanamo Bay from 1961-1963 and were airlifted out shortly before the Missile Crisis while my grandmother was 4 months pregnant with my mom. Even though these files don't focus on Guantanamo specifically, it's interesting to see what tactics the CIA was considering. I wonder what's new in here and what was already well known

Makes you wonder what they could have done if they had Facebook and Twitter.

Ctrl-F "hoover" so forgive me if mentioned.

But, those who read it, is the Hoover "convince the public Oswald acted alone" thing more along the lines of a skeptical public that wouldn't believe one guy pulled this off rather than even hinting at a cover up or that there were more people? It's hard to judge in how I've seen it mentioned and just haven't gotten a chance to read yet. I assume the former by a long shot, btw.

Some of us called this in that thread at the other forum.

They weren't going to be released the way Trump thought or some ppl thought. Any thing that's still a national security issue relevant today won't see the light of day anytime soon. Or it will be redacted.
