Pre-load tomorrow?

Also, will this act as the PC Performance thread too? I'd assume so

To whoever is playing this for the first time, enjoy the first part of the GOAT duology (and a 99.99% chance of trilogy when the time comes)

Looking forward to eventually playing this on the Deck. Surreal.

GrrImAFridge I'm going to be that guy, there's no colon in the game's title.

Hoping Iron Galaxy did a good job here ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿพ

I don't think Iron Galaxy is actually involved. While the updated sysreqs image in the recent PS Blog post regarding the PC release does include Iron Galaxy's logo, this was and still is the only indication the studio is responsible for the port. Unlike Uncharted, Iron Galaxy hasn't been mentioned in any of the PS Blog posts, and also unlike Uncharted, it isn't listed as a co-developer on the EGS or Steam store pages.

But we'll know for sure soon enough.

GrrImAFridge I'm going to be that guy, there's no colon in the game's title.

Haha, yeah, I hemmed and hawed over whether to add the colon and ultimately decided that the title looks weird without it. But if anyone feels that it really shouldn't be there, then I'll request an edit.

Voidu hasn't sent keys out yet, just checked. You can also get a key for 20% off still on Voidu

My theory is that Naughty Dog is internally the one working on the port and Iron Galaxy is just assisting. Like if Factions 2 is going to be GAAS, they gotta get familiar with PC development sooner rather than later. Plus a few years ago IIRC, ND was looking to hire software developers that had experience in PC porting.

And yeah like you said, there has been no mention of Iron Galaxy in any of the blog posts, trailer descriptions or anything.

No biggie, these things bother me more than most. There probably won't be many more complaints ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm excited to play this again. It's been a while. Should look a treat with the upgraded graphics.

I have no desire to play the sequel again, but this one is a timeless masterpiece. A top quality road movie in game format. I'm really happy this is on PC now.

Its just fantastic to see Sony ports support DLSS. But I'm most curious about how this feels on a mouse and keyboard setup.

Separate PC performance threads are common, absolutely, but not when it comes to PC-specific OTs. For instance, the Sony PC ports that have a PC performance thread do not have an OT, and those that do have an OT do not have a PC performance thread.

Holy smokes brain fart, I completely forgot this was a pc centric release.

Maybe a silly question, but is this worth playing if I've seen the HBO show? Story is very important to me and I generally don't replay games since I already know the story. I guess what I'm asking is, how good is the gameplay in itself?

The HBO series was a pretty close adaptation overall, but there were still plenty of moments that either played out differently in the game or didn't make it into the show at all. And the gameplay is still solid imo. I think you'll still find enjoyment in the game.

The plot beats are the same, but tonally and emotionally the show is very different in a lot of ways. The show is much bleaker overall. The show also has lots of subtle character changes throughout the story that ultimately result in stuff like the ending, which despite being similar in terms of exactly what happens, being framed very, very different in the game.

The show is a good "cliff notes" version of the game, where at a high level it's all there, but the emotional experience is very different. The game is overall much, much better as a story, so yes, it's absolutely still worth playing.

Just in time before finishing RE4R. I'm very excited for this, I have never played the games but I have watched playthroughs of them so it will be fun finally playing them myself with part 2 hopefully coming soon. I hope the port is good.

My only nitpick is that they'll probably make us wait ages for a Part 2 PC port :'(

I'm sorry if this is a boring question, but does anyone know why the japanese interface and VO is only accessible for people in Japan? I had never seen this before in any other game on Steam. Something to do with licensing I guess, but why? Do other games do this ever? Do you think it might be added down the line? (Timed exclusive licensing? Haha, wishful thinking)

Part of the reason I play games nowaday is to practice japanese and usually big AAA games are really good because they're voiced and japanese language is available.

Game looks cool tho, but I got into it with the show and now... the visuals look kinda bad. Like the faces don't emote as well as real humans.๐Ÿ˜‚ Always thought the game looked great but now that I've seen it as a show... it looks weird and I'm like 'Bella? Pedro? Where you at?' ๐Ÿ˜
