There was another that happened in the Rams game today. Dude hit with his shoulder, same shit and they flagged for 15.
The game is being ruined, your move XFL.

Just like every other controversial rule change we bitched about in every other season had severe ramifications in those playoffs...
isn't that just called a tackle? They said he used his body weight to force the QB to the ground.
I understand what they're trying to do here. Poor application of it.
Point appears to be to tackle but not unnecessarily slam the player to the ground. And probably avoid driving with your body weight whenever possible.
Are you proposing the league should not make efforts to make the sport safer as more and more research shows the lasting brain damage done by playing football? Here's an idea:
Hey, you want to play Football for a living?
> Sure.
Ok, it's physically taxing and potentially dangerous to your health, are you ok with that?
> Yeah
Cool, sign here.
OR:
> No
Ok, best of luck with your other endeavors.
Most people don't like football, they just like seeing people get hit.Are you proposing the league should not make efforts to make the sport safer as more and more research shows the lasting brain damage done by playing football?
That is correct. Just touch them or pull the flags from their sides. He did run right into the guy and drag him down to the ground. You are supposed to just touch them I thought.
Hitting is the fun part of football. Most people don't like football, they just like seeing people get hit.
It's the Nascar effect.
I'm into the commercial breaks and brain dead commentary
There's a bit more nuance to it than that and you're bright enough to differentiate.I mean that's what a tackle is. That's HOW you tackle somebody is to use your body weight.
That's a mindset I just don't get. It seems like the absolutely least important part. There are lots of sports all about hitting. I thought this is supposed to be a ball game.
More of an egg or an empanada than a ball tbhThat's a mindset I just don't get. It seems like the absolutely least important part. There are lots of sports all about hitting. I thought this is supposed to be a ball game.
I'm doing my best not to call it anything like that, since to me, football is the sport with the ball that you mainly touch with your feet.
There's not a better feeling than making a solid hit a laying someone out. That's a mindset I just don't get. It seems like the absolutely least important part. There are lots of sports all about hitting. I thought this is supposed to be a ball game.
I know this is hyperbole, but it's still kinda.. Idk. Sad? To think that this would be necessary to feel great while playing a competitive sport. There's not a better feeling than making a solid hit a laying someone out.
Pretty sure it's Nascar
Nope.

Generally speaking, do we give a fuck about player safety and concussions or don't we? You can't claim to want the game to become safer but recoil when you see new rules designed to do just that. It's clear what their goal here is, despite this particular application of said rule being poor.
People should probably reflect on what is important to them in this equation.

I agree. It's why I think something like flag football would be infinitely more watchable and enjoyable. Much more dexterity based and practically no risk of CTE or unnecessary injury.I know this is hyperbole, but it's still kinda.. Idk. Sad? To think that this would be necessary to feel great while playing a competitive sport.

Football is dangerous. If you don't want to get hurt don't play.
But then how do you do that to 13 year old kids? Here's an idea:

This happened in the 49ers game last night. I don't know what the league is expecting players to do.
