Let's talk about Evans Cap.
This guy is a boy scout in the most endearing way... Like he can be shit headed levels of stubborn but his intent is pretty much always in a good place. This guy has spent all his time in these movings fighting for a world that doesn't exist, a world that has outgrown him, a world in which he doesn't really have anyone to fight for, and a world that pretty much doesn't deserve him. He runs from fight to fight because that's all he has... All he knows. With all that he doesn't settle for compromise or trading lives. He rather lose completely than to give someone up to win because that is losing to him. In hindsight, this is terrible when facing someone like Thanos, but holy fuck is it a testament to how solid his character is. This the same guy that was calling T'Challa your highness while the King was trying to drop a set on Cap and put him and his best friend to sleep.
With Endgame there's a ton of speculation surrounding where these characters go, and with Cap I feel the Russo's will do right by him. But regardless of what happens... Let us remind ourselves that the world he fights for never deserved him in the first place and that low-key makes him the most depressing story in the MCU. There is no reason this dude should be as good as he is but he continues to do so anyway. It almost makes you hate him in a way, "sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth." Some don't like these idealistic heroes but I think what the MCU did with Cap was fantastic. I never thought I'd like the hero but I do now and just wanted to spread the love.
