I've been Involved for a while in a subreddit dedicated to this mysterious song that we've been racking our brains trying to figure out the name of the song and the band behind it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMysteriousSong/
Here is the full song:
The search started actually back in 2007, a user by the name of bluuue posted a snippit from a song on Spiritofradio.ca, best-of-80s.de and other places to try and find the name of a song, they shared a little info such as thinking that they remember it being recorded from a show called "Musik für junge Leute" (Music for Young People) which was a German radio program hosted by Paul Baskerville. They also shared the full song, however all the links for the full version were down so all we had was a small snippit that was originally shared.

The search sadly went no where and eventually dried up.
In 2017 a snippit of it was posted by Nicolás Zúñiga (Dead Wax Records, a Spanish music label), and then in 2019 a man by the name of Gabriel Vieira (a sound engineer) is the one responsible for really igniting the new search, creating the subreddit, posting it to YT again. With this renewed interest in the song it led to a few things happening. We were finally able to get the full song instead of merely a snippit thanks to the reddit user johnnymetoo.
A youtuber by the name of Whang who has a decent sized audience did a video on it as well around this time,
then an update, which covers a lot of the story behind it (more then I've wrote up here)
Then through this searching Gabriel was also able to get into contact with Paul Baskerville himself (Who still does a radio program in Berlin). He sadly could not recall the specific song but he did play the song on the radio to see if any listeners could help find it and give the info about it.
This interview was hosted on a German radio station called Radio1 which would happen to have none other then the original uploader of the song, bluuue, listening in and hearing this interview. They were able to find the reddit for it and help fill in some blanks and join in the search for it now.
The uploaders name was Lydia and the song was recorded off a German radio station by her brother. He thinks it was from the "Musik für junge Leute" (music for young people) by Paul Baskerville but still isn't 100% sure.
Her identity was verified (she logged in the old accounts on those sites , etc).
Eventually got her brother to post send pictures of the tape and the track listing he had printed for it which gave a good sense of the time period of songs being played and type of music he was recording from the radio at that time.
It has been shared on a few radio stations from Germany to Britian and in the US. However as much as it's reached we haven't had much luck as far as finding moreabout the band or the actual song name. A lot of people that say "they've heard it before" or a friend of a friend knows it but as usual those turn up to be lies or have 0 proof. Absolutely no one has been able to track down the band or singer behind it or the songs real name.
So I decided to make this post on era, it's a longshot but you never know maybe one of you can help or know something about it.
