The next James Bond title song will be written and performed by Billie Eilish

I can understand not being a fan of Billie's music or even her way of singing, but to say she cant sing, is downright wrong and preposterous. That's not even a matter of opinion. It's a fact that Billie can sing.

I like her but she’s not established enough to have earned it. Some of the best vocalists of all time have done Bond songs over the years.

You can’t get more established than Madonna and she has given us the worst Bond song, so fuck it, let Billie run with it. Let’s see what someone that young and experimental comes up with.

The songs to all these Craig movies have been so forgettable. The chorus to Skyfall the best effort. Hopefully this breaks the streak.

I predict another mediocre song a la Sam Smith.
*I'm probably just still bitter from them dropping Radiohead for Specter for that Sam Smith trash of a song.

Would have preferred Dua Lipa. Or left-field choice: Stormzy.

But I’m sure this will be good.

That’s been my biggest issue. I get they’re going for a different vibe but some of the Craig Tunes seem like pop songs with the movie title occasionally thrown in. Pretty much all of the Brosnan ones were great Die Another Day excluded...and even that one was on theme albeit horrifically auto-tuned.

Can't wait. She's one of the most exciting things to come out of mainstream music in the last few years and the amount of hate she gets is baffling.

Having the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Billie Eilish involved in a Bond movie is exactly what these movies need.

Between Fukunaga, Waller-Bridge, Hans Zimmer and now Billie Ellish, there's such a sense of fresh and new that it is getting me dangerously hyped.

It's not so much that I think she can't sing so much as the specific kind of singing she does really grates on me fast.

This video on the other hand, I may never get tired of

The way this thread is shaping up I am not far from predicting a sort of themesonggate building up on other... less civil places on the internet...
Doing a theme song for james bond is one of the GREATEST honors anyone can ever do, its disrespectful to just let anyon....

edit:

I agree, will be fun to see the arguments. Its a marketing tool, always has been?

The thing is - and seeing Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies drives this point home - is that Eilish is really good, but ultimately this won't be one of the best Bond themes because the best ones are always written side-by-side with the score and weave the main theme of the score into the track. Whenever it's just a 'licensed in' song, it's never a stone-cold classic... and that is what it is. Which, incidentally, is why KD Lang's Surrender is the superior Tomorrow Never Dies theme (though TND is a decent song in its own right, I think) - but it wasn't poppy enough for the producers so it got shunted to the credits.

Anyway. I think she'll do a good job, tbh. Can't be worse than Another Way to Die!

Hey, Tomorrow never dies, and die another day, as well as golden eye are very good bond themes that launched you right into the opening.

My point -- is that its James Bond. They print these movies. Crow was hot at the moment. This is what they do.

Best bond song, is that some award given away somewhere? Verrrry subjective here.

Songs not out, lets at least wait?

Is this the youngest person they've used for a Bond song? I thought they usually use someone more established.

So you're a Bond guy
Double-0-7 Bond guy
Leaves the ladies fond guy
Stop the villain's bomb guy

I'm that Bond type
British super spy type
Make the villain hurl type
Might seduce his girl type

I'm the Bond guy.
Came in here searching for something like this. Lol. I also learned that she can sing however. Surprised since I only know the basic top songs I've heard.

Me and my brother were discussing this while watching the trailer the other day. He called Eilish, and I agreed thinking either her or Charli XCX. Good for Eilish. Looking forward to whatever she comes up with.

To give some perspective: Billie Eilish was 4 when Casino Royale came out and we still have the same Bond actor.
