For those that don't know, Evening Star only formed 3 months ago. Even if they are working on a sequel to Sonic Mania (Which I strongly believe they are) it's going to be a ways out. Second half of 2019 will be a quiet one for Sonic.

Sonic Mania is the only good Sonic since Sonic & Knuckles.
I heard it sold pretty well too.
But It'll probably a shitty game based on the shitty movie they're going to release.

I thought Forces was decent but clearly went through troubled development, and after 4 games of it I think it's time to retire the Boost formula and do something different. Just give fans the Adventure 3 we've been waiting for, Mania was one big crowd-pleaser and look how well that did.
