SE works in mysterious ways. It was only a couple years ago when 7R was moved back to SE internal. People thought it would take much longer than it did.

Tabata also only worked on 15 for three years before shipping.

I have faith the game will be out in 22/23.

There will be some vested interest by Sony to support them i am sure. They seem big enough to convince SE with money to make a next gen showcase.

I loved the remake and I knew it was going to be awhile, but seriously? This guy is like, "Yah... we really need to consider some of the stuff for the next one. I'm not sure what I'll be in charge of next, but this element sounds fun!"

FF7 remake will compete for Game of Thrones on who is done last.

I'd like to think having developed the game engine and battle system will help cut down on time but Part 2 will probably be bigger than 1 in terms of environments and scope, so...

Guess I'll be in my 40s when this whole project is done.

Eh a more literal translation is this according to the translator: We've begun to think about story concepts that aren't clear yet" So duh they started development and aren't in planning. Should include the translator's note in the OP before people say this isn't coming until 2027 or wtv.

That stinks. No way the next parts will come out on PS4. They will be so old why bother. Would've been nice to have all on one system.

Nah they could still easily make a 2022 date. The production of this game basically started from scratch years into production after dumping Cyberconnect and switching to Unreal 4. The main hurdle will be getting any motion capture voice work done that needs to be done especially with pandemic conditions around the world right now.
