The Nintendo Switch has pretty much ruined physical game copies for me.
From the awful white border that ruins box art with the INTERNET DOWNLOAD REQUIRED header to games being split up between physical and digital, I simply don't want to buy these games at all now. I passed on Bayonetta 1/2 because of this and I will pass on the recently announced Mega Man collection too. This has become more common with a lot of releases lately from both Nintendo and third parties.
I am a physical collector, I have several children who I lend my games to, friends and more. This has ruined it. Everything people were pissed off about the Xbox One in its original from is here. You can't trade this game in (EB Canada won't take Bayonetta 1/2 because of the code), you lose part of the game or all of it when using the digital code it comes with, you cannot share the digital part, you need an internet connection, mandatory downloads etc. It isn't as draconian as what Microsoft originally planned but the issues are extremely similar.
Nintendo did this slowly and has ruined my desire to purchase games on the system that do this.
Anyone else feeling this way?
