According to Gfk, the Nintendo Switch sold 1,036,000 units in its 2 years and 9 months in the market.
In 2019 alone, the Nintendo Switch already sold 332,000 units with the whole month of December still ahead. These figures include both the flagship and Lite models.

GfK also released the top 5 of best-selling Switch games :

1. Super Mario Odyssey
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
4. Splatoon 2
5. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

note : Pokemon seems to be tracked each version separately, Pokemon Let's Go should be #4 with the data we have.

Congrats for reaching this milestone !

Damn, and this is in sonyland.
It speaks volumes how well the switch resonated with consumers.
Do we have more info about other consoles?

Most impressive things is software sales in Spain. To give you an example of the tie-ratios at retail for the top 5 :

- Super Mario Odyssey ~40%
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ~ 40%
- Zelda BotW ~30%
- Pokémon Let's Go ~ 25%
- Splatoon 2 ~ 20%

Rough translation:

- 1.036.000 sold since March 2017, 332.000 of which sold in 2019
- 125.000 copies of Pokémon SW/SH sold in 1 week
- Top 5 physical selling games since launch are:
  1. Super Mario Odyssey
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  3. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  4. Splatoon 2
  5. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Edit: forgot to add Pokémon in the title. Also, "rached", yeah.

Switch's official name in Spain is "La plei portatil. Si, si hay Mario kart. No, no se puede piratear". OP fix your message

3 of the top 5 selling games all have something in common.

Lead protagonists Link, Mario and Inkling all appear in 3 of the 5 titles lol

Wonder how that compares to the other consoles.

If you mean historically:

Wii was released in December 2006 and by the end of 2008 has already sold 1,4 million. So it needed less than 2 years versus the 2 years and 8 months for the Switch.

3DS was released in March 2011 and by the end of 2013 had already sold 900.000. So it probably needed about 2 years to reach the million.

PS4 was released in November 2013 and surpassed the million at some point during 2015, so less than 2 years too.

I see. Good frame of reference.

Nice. Also wow at Odyssey at #1 and and Splatoon 2 #4. Especially surprised the latter is above Smash
