Sounds like you'd be happier working at Company B.

But also consider what you might be doing five years from now -- if you expect to be climbing the ladder by switching employers again, Company A would probably provide better leverage for future salary negotiation.
Thanks man. I think I just needed someone to tell me this. I think I'll go with company A.

Would anyone have any recommendations for self-learning Korean? I used Teach Yourself for beginners - medium Japanese and Italian and found those really good, but I've had a look at reviews for the Korean options on Amazon UK and they're not great. I would be looking for something in a similar format though with a book and CD too.

2 issues.

1. Resetera among other websites do not load on my 4g network. Some websites do no problem, but resetera doesn't load at all. On the rare occasion it might load VERY slowly but otherwise nope.

On wifi, loads no problem at all though...

Only started doing this today.

2. Bought a new laptop the other day day. I'm having this really annoying problem with double tapping the touchpad.. Depending on how (or where, I dunno it's random) I hit double tap on the touchpad, it "jumps" like a centimeter down. Very annoying when im wanting to click something and does this, forcing me to click something else.

Send help!

I was gonna make a thread on this but then I remembered this thread existed so hopefully someone here can help me out. Gonna be moving across the state next month for a new job. It's a three hour drive from where I currently am to the house i'm going to be staying at while I find a place to call my own. I don't really feeling like lugging around my items while doing all this so does anyone know a reliable service that can move stuff around for me? It won't be more than a couple of boxes since I don't currently own that much and i'm not taking any furniture or appliances.

I really don't want to make a thread so I hope posting this here is okay:
If I have to choose between a company that is basically 1.5x my current salary but has overtime work of 60-80 hours a month, is it worth it? I think this has the most growth but I really hate overtime. Commuting wise, it's going to be much more crowded which I hate.

Or do I choose a company which parent company is a company I really loved when I was a kid but the salary is just average? It's a small increase on my current salary and not a huge increase like the one above. I think I just want to work here because it's a company I really admired since I was a kid. Plus when I entered that building, seeing everything I loved in display was like a dream. I think I only want to choose this company because it would be cool/fun to work at. Overtime is really low(0-20 hours a month) and there are more days off than the one above.

Company A is financial. Company B is entertainment.
Unless you desperately need more money, I'd go with B.

Quality of life >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> extra money

Can I legally ride my ATV in easements like the land between the road and farm land where power lines go in IL. I am having a hard ass time finding anything on it.

I cook with them all the time in preference to white onions. They have a sweeter, less sharp onion taste to white onions. Why?

Why the fuck has my beard suddenly grown tough-as-fuck since I decided to shave it off? I swear it wasn't like this before yet now, even when using a decent razor with good cream and moisturiser, it's still really painful (and usually ends in at least one cut).

Is there anything I can do to stop this or is this just my life now?

You've aged and your beard is coarser now. Try using baby oil or rub shaving cream on and let it sit for a moment so that it can make the hair more malleable before shaving.

Let's say I receive $10,000. What would be the most fool proof way to invest that money with minimal loss?

Well, you could put it into a CD (Certificate of Deposit) with a bank like Ally. Right now there is a 12 month CD with them that has a 2.7% rate, and that's guaranteed (no loss as long as you're below the FDIC limit, which $10,000 would be). BUT, you're probably only barely keeping up with inflation with that.

A bit more risky would be something like this mutual fund from Vanguard. About two thirds of the fund are devoted to bonds, which do carry interest rate risk, and it won't pay out as much as a fund devoted entirely to stocks, but that's risk/reward for you. Take a look at this, but also check out all of the other funds Vanguard (or Schwab, or whoever) has, to see what aligns with your appetite for risk. I personally am invested in this fund, and it was fairly flat last year, but I didn't lose anything either.

Roth IRA, contributing the max contribution ($5k) for the next two years!

Yep, you can do this as well, and you'd get started on retirement funds if you haven't already.

Try Fluent Forever. They just released an app that's subscription based and has Korean. You could also buy their book and pronounciation trainer/word list, and just use Anki to do the flash cards.

Do you have to pay for the ambulance in the United States? (Saw on Twitter but I didn't believe)
The answer to this is complicated. But boils down to "yes" with caveats.

Health insurance may cover some portion of an ambulance ride, unless it decides an ambulance was an unnecessary expense. When health insurance declines to pay a health expense, the provider bills the patient. If the patient can't pay, they can try to negotiate with the provider. If a [patient has no health insurance they just get billed. Health insurance charges patients portions of services called copays, which are set fees for services that the patient is responsible for, as well as deductibles, which is a dollar figure the patient is responsible for before any coverage begins.

Also in some cases automobile insurance could be liable to pay that bill. Or a company's workers compensation insurance. Etc.

Last time I rode in an ambulance the expense was around $800 or so. Could maybe increase based on distance traveled or support services needed during the ride? Not sure about how the calculations work.

Is the Caesar cut with messy hair in back the popular thing right now or is it just a Hispanic thing in the south?

It seems like the touchpad is recognizing you tapping in two different places as one single swipe. Try tapping slower

What is the reason for pedal cycling youths, usually males, doing wheelies nowadays? It used to be a very rare sight but now if I see a youth on a pedal cycle it is rare that they do not do a wheelie. Is it from something in mainstream culture or youth culture e.g. Fortnite that I have no knowledge of? I am in the UK if that matters.

If razors are causing pain, irritation & cuts, try switching to an electric trimmer instead.

I also have sensitive skin so I use/recommend the "Andis T-Outliner" in combination with the pre-shave "Lectric Shave".

Thank you for the detailed answer. It is interesting to note that what is considered normal in some countries would be absurd if proposed in others (in my country ambulances are free). I hope I never get sick in the United States, because if the disease does not kill me, then the bill definitely will.

There was a thread a little while back about a website doing a retrospective of sorts of all of the MCU movies, although this thread just started with Iron Man and i think said there would be a new one each week on this website but I can't find that thread here or the website that did them even though I was sure I bookmarked it. Does anyone know where it is?

I've seen a few American TV shows and movies allude to the idea of school children having the same lessons in the same order every day. Is that really how it works there? As a British teacher that sounds really different.

In lower grades, yes, that is generally the case with the exception of specialist classes taught by different instructors. Students spend the majority of the day in the classroom of their primary/generalist teacher, but travel (as a group) to specialist classes such as physical education, music, art, etc.

(Specialist classes are often on a rotating schedule that doesn't align with the days of the week so that the same class isn't always hit by Monday/Friday holidays.)

Middle and high school students usually go from classroom to classroom following a personalized schedule that can vary significantly from day to day. (These can also operate on a 6+ day rotation.)

This is the same in Iceland

I've created a WIndows 10 bootable installation ISO from the media creation tool but it didn't give me a choice of what version of WIndows 10 to download. This is for a new PC I'll be building for my parents shortly... does the product key I use determine which version of the software gets installed?

EDIT: TO clarify I bought a key for Windows 10 Home but when I run through the media creation tool it just says Windows 10, but I have been able to download a Windows 10 Home ISO from the place I actually bought it. :s

I think it asks which version you're installing when you go through the install process? Or you enter the license key during install (if you have it, instead of applying it after install) and it chooses based on the key. Looking into it, if your motherboard has an embedded product key (OEM PC), it won't let you choose. But it should let you choose if this is a fresh install on a DIY build.

Cheers. Yeah I ran through the tool again and initially it just says Windows 10 in the drop down.

I did actually get the Home ISO from the place that I picked up the key so I have a couple of options if I have problems during the install anyway,

Yes. Depending on the insurance coverage you have, you may end up owing only a portion or none of the bill. But even with insurance, you better hope the insurance company treats your ambulance ride as arising from what they deem an actual emergency, otherwise they may deny coverage entirely. The system is ridiculous.

Is there any way to work on a big thread/post on Resetera without the threat of accidentally posting it too soon? I have an OT to start setting up and I'd love to work on it in the thread/post editor, but there's no way to preview it without adding a title and I'm scared that if I do so I could accidentally post a half-setup OT way before I want to.

What I used to do in the other forum was basically just paste it in these comment sections and preview it that way

Where did the idea of a movie/tv drug dealers insidiously giving out a sample for free come from and first appear? It reeks of something borne out of the War on Drugs but I gotta imagine writers in the 80s would have actually interacted with drug dealers.

Is there a general PS4 OT somewhere?

Is there anything to do to keep a launch PS4's fans from spinning up into leaf-blower mode in some games? (Without actually modding the console. Do those cooling fan vertical stands actually do anything? Does raising the (horizontally-oriented) system up so it has more airflow below help? Is blowing canned air into the system recommended? Etc.)
