One of the reasons I love Shock winning is their mixed roster. I've always kinda been irked when the commentators (rightly or not) point out the communication problems within mixed rosters. It feels vaguely xenophobic even if they're just discussing the difficult reality of learning languages.

To be fair Goats is all about team cohesion and coordination, and you can't get there without effortless communication. Which is why Shock dominating as they are with a mixed roster is more impressive than on the surface.

And it's why its puzzling homogeneous teams like Houston and Florida are struggling.

No expected Sinaatra and Super to improve like they did. Also, I can't believe a mixed-language roster can communicate so well.

Crusty, man.

Crusty is clearly the best coach in OWL right now IMO. He's proven himself with Boston and how far they fell after he left, to now with the Shock.

But still, gotta give credit to the players as well. They don't have Crusty with them in the game and their communication is insane. The most team heavy meta ever and a mixed roster is dominating. Sinatraa had insane coordination with Choi and Viol2t yesterday for example. They're insane.

Doesn't hurt that they have the best Zarya and Rein in the world and a top 3 at minimum Zen/Lucio/D.Va. The only semi weak link on the team is Rascal and he's not bad at all, just doesn't stand out compared to the top Brigs like Haksal.

I'd really hesitate to not call Rascal a top 3 Brig. The reason they swapped over to him instead of Architect starting on Brig is because he has an ability to clutch and find plays that others will miss in the heat of the moment(paraphrasing Super? here). He's had hero moments in the last few games, especially when he and Sinatraa clutched holding Point A Blizzardworld yesterday. If you don't put Rascal in the top 3 Brigs I don't know who else can go there. Haksal's the obvious and it still feels fucking bizarroworld to me that he went from bot to god, but the only other brigs that have stood out to me is Erster

Haksal has better English than Architect , and probably is a better in-game leader. I remember Crusty subbing in Babybay in stage 4 over Architect for the latter.

Honestly, yeah, your post made me think about it. Not a lot of Brigs stand out. So while Rascal does look worse compared to Haksal, yeah he's probably still top 3. Profit is a god Brig as well, or... at least he was, but since he's on Zarya duty due to Birdring's shortcomings we don't get to see it anymore.

I guess Guard's Zarya isn't as consistently high as Profit's and they figured it was a worthy tradeoff to have Profit's Zarya over Profit's brig. At least Profit was probably glad for the role swap.

Birding's probably feeling it that he's one of the few hitscan specialists in the League that got put on Brig duty over the flex/projectile player

Titans and?

I feel like Optimus was super confident in the Shock pre-season...
I had Shock like mid tier before the season when everyone else was putting them top 4 and shit

1. Sinatraa was ass in World Cup goats so I was assuming that wouldn't change(it did)
2. I never once thought Super would play and that Smurf would be the starter, who I think is mediocre(he did play and was insanely good somehow)
3. I thought Moth was just decent but he went like 📈 out of nowhere

Liquidpedia's got nothing on what roles he played in the past, anybody know?

EDIT: He's a flex support

Just trash the whole fucking thing, it's a popularity contest where somehow the most popular players aren't involved.

Keep the Talent Takedown, build the week around that.

The Internet
I mean, knowing Surefour it may be an extended joke, but someone asked him about it in chat and he was like "I wasn't invited" and then moved on pretty quickly, so. I guess they may have only picked starting roster players?

Imagine being the most viewed Overwatch streamer currently still in the League, beating Carpe on a Widow 1v1 and not getting invited to what's basically just a popularity contest.

Deal has been in the works for awhile, the 3 have been accused of boosting

When the Westerners hate you for dropping all non-Koreans and the Koreans hate you for starting a full squad of boosters.

Combine that with all the previous reasons to dislike the Mayhem like their picking a state instead of a city, their color scheme, their management etc. and who's even left to still cheer for the mayhem lmao
