Someone refresh my memory, but is LA Noire so old that it even predates Mike on the show?
It's great up until the arson section.I like Ethan, but I honestly cannot wrap my mind around wanting a complete library of games on any system. At least 50% will be awful, so why waste the time and money? Who cares if those games get lost in the void?
Also, having never played LA Noire, was it really that awful?
It was interesting for the time, but I think there's a reason why no one bothered using the technology for face capture again and why no one bothered making a sequel either.I like Ethan, but I honestly cannot wrap my mind around wanting a complete library of games on any system. Then it falls off the rails hard.
Alrighty, thanks. I'll pass on it for the time being. It was interesting for the time, but I think there's a reason why no one bothered using the technology for face capture again and why no one bothered making a sequel either.
Nope. I'm pretty sure we did a Spoiled in 60 Minutes episode on LA Noire.
I did this with the Dreamcast and while I love the DC, it was a mistake.I like Ethan, but I honestly cannot wrap my mind around wanting a complete library of games on any system. At least 50% will be awful, so why waste the time and money? Who cares if those games get lost in the void?

Star Wars is strange because it's their BioWare system of lootboxes applied to a competitive game - a gacha that provides gameplay items instead of cosmetic items. If we do talk about any aspect of this I'd prefer to focus more on EA's bizarre blunders with the situation - really bad messaging/explanation of a complicated system, changing the values from the review event to the final release, and doing a price cut but zeroing out any goodwill it may have brought by changing another parameter in the game.
I don't want to re-debate the existence of loot box systems in this or other premium games, whether it's pay to win and isn't that bad, or the question of whether it is or isn't gambling, etc. - those are questions the market will decide (spoiler: they did already, see: Overwatch, Ultimate Team, etc.).
Communicate this to your hosts too :PIf we do talk about any aspect of this I'd prefer to focus more on EA's bizarre blunders with the situation - really bad messaging/explanation of a complicated system, changing the values from the review event to the final release, and doing a price cut but zeroing out any goodwill it may have brought by changing another parameter in the game.

Phil always has at least one comment per episode that makes me literally laugh out loud to myself like an idiot....Today was "I don't think we should set the mocking aside"...or something like that. It was pretty good anyway. Kudos Phil.
I can't tell if Phil is actually playing something he can't talk about or if he's parodying other podcasts. Didn't he leave the industry? Don't let it suck you back in!! Maybe he's on the consulting gravy train like Jeff Green.
Yeah, I work for the Pokémon Company International these days. One of the stipulations of me continuing to be on the podcast when I got the job was that I can't talk about Pokémon on the show.
But yes, I've been playing a ton of Ultra Sun!
